Question

Recovery image (ROM) for my Meta Quest 3.

I am writing to follow up on my case #** regarding my bricked Quest 3.

To date, I have not received a viable solution. The repeated offer to replace the unit is not a workable option for me, as I am unable to return the device to an official service center due to my location.

Therefore, I am reiterating my request: please provide me with a recovery image (ROM) for my Meta Quest 3.

My question is simple: what is the difficulty in providing this file? I am technically capable and willing to attempt the recovery process myself. This is the only feasible solution for my situation, as a physical replacement is impossible.

The serial number of the device is 2**.

I look forward to your prompt and specific response regarding the availability of a recovery image.

That is what the Meta Quest Link Software Update is for, so you can flash the software to your headset using a PC and USB cable.

nope, Meta Quest Link Software Update doesn't work. My device is stuck on the "USB Update Mode" screen, and that keeps giving me a popup with an error of "No recovery image available for this device. Please try reconnecting your device or contact our support team. (Try again button)".

I'm with OP on this one. Just provide the image and let me unlock my bootloader. I don't want to pay for another quest 3 just because an update meta pushed bricked it.

I’m having the same issue with my Quest 3 stuck on USB Update Mode.

@MetaSupport please consider providing an official recovery image for regions

where RMA is not possible. Many users in Pakistan and other countries

face this problem. Hope Meta can help with a software solution.

There is no Meta support in these forums, only community users, since January this year after all the job losses at Reality Labs.
