unable to use link with my professional laptop
I use a Meta Quest 3 for virtual visit with my student.
I changed my computer for a Dell Pro Max 16 Plus in january 2026.
Issue:
Meta Quest Link first displays a message saying that my computer does not meet the new minimum specifications but it was working. Recently,When I connect the headset, the application then displays: “You will not be able to use Link because it is incompatible with your system hardware.”
This same PC was working with Quest Link a few months ago. The issue seems to have appeared after a software update.
Here is some information
Configuration:
- PC: Dell Pro Max 16 Plus MB16250
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265HX
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU
- NVIDIA driver: 596.86
- RAM: 32 GB
- Headset: Meta Quest 3
- Meta Quest Link: Public Test Channel enabled
Observed in the logs:
- NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell Laptop GPU: Compatibility PASS
- Intel Core Ultra 7 265HX: Compatibility FAIL / UNSUPPORTED_CLASS
- Some USB controllers appear as UNKNOWN_USB3
- In WebXR via Chrome, the immersive session starts, but the headset may show a black screen.
I have already tried:
- updating the NVIDIA driver;
- reinstalling Meta Quest Link;
- enabling the Public Test Channel;
- enabling “Discrete Graphics Controller Direct Output Mode” in the Dell BIOS;
- testing Chrome in Incognito mode for my visit that are website.
- checking the OpenXR runtime, which correctly points to Meta Quest Link.
I really need to be able to use that visit !
Could you please help me ?
Best regards
