Update 2.6, Quest 2 Headset is unable to connect to wi-fi despite correct passwords + settings

I've factory reset my headset after this bug started happening last night, and no matter how I persist with it, I can never get my headset to play nice with my internet.

Tried everything, made sure it's WPA2 and all that jazz, no results. I heard someone mention this happened on the beta release of the update, my headset is on build 5222268.2390.150, dating 20th July '26 if that helps.

The strangest thing is that my mobile hotspot works just fine, it's only with my proper WiFi it struggles which is less than ideal considering I use virtual desktop to play on my main PC. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

There is whole thread about this already. Please don't double up by starting another one. There is a temporary solution to this bug in the other thread. Your headset is fine so factory reset will do nothing. This is the thing when you join PTC, it's to find all the bugs!

Hey I got this problem also and it seems v2.6 is stable now, since I was not enrolled in PTC and I got updated to v2.6 with this same issue.

Hey there, same issue here, started last night, been troubleshoting all night. If the network is set to WPA (only, not 2 or 3) or Open the connection works. That's the only fix I found but It makes your network not safe since WPA only is basically deprecated. So let's wait for a fix. Also, I was not enrolled in PTC thing, not sure why I got updated to 2.6, can't go back now..

Maybe the build version started rolling out?

So far, the page with release notes only shows PTC v2.6 notes, but maybe the pages isn't updated yet... happened a few times πŸ€ͺ

Same problem, headset worked fine 3 days ago, tried today and couldnt connect to any wifi (one for router, one directly to the modem, but giving password error). Was only able to connect to a phone hotspot, but that is not ideal since I use it with my pc.

DsurionPixel If it's affecting your use, maybe don't stay on the PTC program, going forward. There will be a lot of bugs every time there's a new PTC version. I do admire those willing to go through the pain though! 😁

Seriously though, I hope they fix it quickly for you. Must be a pain in the axx. 🀞🀞

Maccyb123  Unfortunately, this is not an PTC only issue. It affects folks on build v2.6 as well.

The problem should be fixed now. They rolled out a patch for v2.6 and once i updated and restarted, i am able to connect to the wifi. You just need a hotspot to do it or update via tool kit.
