Crescent Bay headphones a joke??

should not be attached where you can't use your own headphones..

personally earbuds are best like the Bose QC20 where it is active noise cancelling

its far superior than over ear because the bass is deep because of the seal

no overear as it heats up the ear as well

What kind of gear should non-audiophile, non-exquisite people try to get?

The thing is, it doesn't really matter as long as the frequency and amplitde response is calibrated. That's the reason why the integrated headphones are so awesome - they are basically the same for every user. So it is possible for the software to synthesize an accurate representation of the sound localisation.
Flat frequency responses aren't really possible with headphones because the speaker system consists of the driver only, so any calibrated headphone is fine. Perhaps one thing that would be good are tight manufacturing tolerances so that factory calibration is accurate enough.

I'm just hoping they do actually try out the QC20 active noise cancelling because if they have the stupid ignorant close minded mentality like yours they will do open and we will have crap overear headphones

cheapest inear ear buds with properly tuned sound processing BEATS expensive overears

    Define `beats`.

The average consumer is not a good measure of how `good` audiophile level equipment is- most consumers are ignorant of decent sounding headphones or types of headphones/earphones and their uses.

This is simply because a lot of headphones/earphones are sold with marketing `buzzwords` to make them sound `super-awesome-special-limited`- whilst not being particular brilliant in any way.

Expensive headphones/earphones are not always `better` than a pair of less expensive headphones that are used for the purpose they are designed for- example is a pair of £60 studio headphones by AKG or Audiotechnica- no one would use `noise cancelling` headphones in a studio- its not something to look for- a band member playing guitar on stage, might well use `noise cancelling` earphones- that's a purpose.

Bose products are incredibly popular- but that does not mean they are particularly revolutionary or fit for purpose in VR.

Bose sells because of the fallacy known as `appeal to popularity`. Compare Bose speakers to Paradigm, Rel or Kef- and you will see, feel and most importantly hear the difference.

I'm not the guy judging the headphones based on a photo and making a thread with a double question mark topic which is really just a false assertion.

Bose uses filtering and dynamic EQ, which will ruin the 3D positioning. This is not an opinion, its just how HRTF works.

Way too much sound that leaks out from each ear unit. Very distracting to other people in the room. Will not use. Its a shame to spend so much on something that's so disappointing."
