Lets make a SDK 0.4 Linux nagging thread!

Since there is no official response as to the status of Linux & OSX I am creating a thread.

I think that cross platform developers shouldn't be treated as second-class citizen. Perhaps this is of no concern and the SDK is on it's way as we are posting, but I'd like to make sure we aren't over looked! ;)
The new way of treating the rift as a specialized device using the windows runtime & driver might complicate things, or not. But before there is further speculation it would be really, really nice if some oculus rep gives us a short heads up. :)

update: thanks for the OSX release, how long until we've got Linux?

Yes, the 0.3.x has known issues with the DK2. These issues have been repaired in the Github version of the SDK, but there hasn't been a new release of the 0.3.x Java binaries. My bad. I'll see if I can get this done tonight, but it's a hectic week with PAX Dev and PAX.

That would be awesome, but I didn't mean to cause more work for you! Actually, my project still has a very long todo list of things that do not depend on Rift support -- it would only be more rewarding to see the development process in VR :).

Ugh, I had just ordered because I saw the Linux SDK support listed in the FAQ ( https://support.oculus.com/hc/en-us/articles/201835987 ) to find that it doesn't work with DK2 yet? That's frustrating to hear!

even more disapointment.... an email from kickstarter they are releasing a mobile SDK they even give an eta of october while existing customers are left out in the cold. Seriously wheres the linux SDK wheres an ETA you already have our money how about finishing the platforms you are already on instead of adding more

Hmm... I hope the Linux SDK will be released before then... It absolutely should be since they are advertising the Linux support all over the place (the homepage, the FAQ, etc.). The Linux support was the only reason I preordered, and now I find out it doesn't exist yet, so this is really disappointing.

Got my DK2 and the only major problem is that this SDK is missing, which forces me to boot into some kind of operating system called windows :o. Please do the release soon, so we can get working...

Just got my DK2, looking forward to taking it for a spin only to find no Linux SDK :-( I hope you get to this soon, certainly a disappointment, but hopefully you have something in the works. The device looks great, unfortunately I don't have anything dual boot with decent GPU to hand, but I guess I can do something about that if this is a long term lack of Linux support in DK2.

Another 0.4 branch release yet no Linux support. Our DK2 is getting closer to being shipped but we can't use it when it comes. I hope Oculus understands there is a need for the Linux support and are working hard on it. I wish they would give some sort of official statement to at least acknowledge that it is coming.

Dear Oculus team, I'm still stuck with 0.3.2 on Linux. Is there any release date with v0.4 ?
Many thanks for your great work :D
