Oculus Rift integrations into CryENGINE 3 FreeSDK.

Hi Community.

Just wondering about any chances of getting integrated Oculus Rift support for this engine. Is anybody working with fitting this into the CryENGINE 3 FreeSDK? I am unsure if this can be achieved as the sourcecode provided for indie developers are restricted to GameDLL.

The demand is increasing each day and there is a thread on Crytek's developer forum CryDev located here : http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=355&t=94231

    Same issue here :-(

    I am currently developing a space simulator for Oculus Rift under Unity3D, but I want to switch to another more powerful engine. The DK2 is already ordered few months ago.

    Due to the lack of lack of support for the Rift in CryEngine, currently only UE4 is a candidate, but as it is not meant to be used for space simulators and some things are therefor harder to implement, I'd prefer to switch to the CryEngine.

    Lack of Oculus Rift Support is currently a Showstopper for me using the CryEngine :-(
    I really wonder why they dont push that feature?! I mean common, UE4 supports it, and even the "cheaper" Unity3D engine does....

    Maybe the development of Chris Roberts Star Citizen and cooperation with Crytek helps in getting in the support natively?!

    Crytek demoed full integration into CRYENGINE at GamesCom 2014! It's in German but apparently their demo was really impressive with reduced chromatic aberration and high quality anti-aliasing :D !

    Cool thanks for that I'll put a prototype together and hopefully see full VR support before December.

    why has nobody got any video of this new Crytek demo. They have my interest even as a UE4 user. I loved the Crysis 1 sandbox, was far ahead of it's time and still like how everything just works together so naturally in the latest engine.

    Edit:

    First of all The Cryengine is a very powerfull tool!!
    It is also a very difficult tool.
    With blood sweat and tears It is possible to make a game on your own (I did it).
    You pay10 bugs a monts for a multy-million dollar piece of software (which is a bargain).
    Other engines are free but you pay for extra contend (frogs, birds, squirels, vehicles, fireworks etc etc).

    The Cryengine has VR support now!!

    So....
    that being said.

    What are you waiting for :)

    Greetings and love

    Not true. The CRYENGINE EaaS is for Indies and they have opened up the engine a lot since release. A lot of sourcecode is now available and developers are happy about that.

    I'm not waisting my time, im spending it developing my game with great success.

    We already know CRYENGINE has a specific build that handles the Oculus Rift DK2 perfectly well. So it's just a matter of time before they release the implementation for CRYENGINE EaaS. They'll release support for the Oculus Rift when they are ready to do so.

    Nope. With the plans Crytek has for the future of CRYENGINE EaaS i'm totally not going anywhere.

    What?

    Hey there,

    I tried as Batigol said:

    r_stereoeyeDist = 0.2
    sys_CurrentHMDType = 1

    Here is what I did
    Bin64/system.cfg:
    -- Game data generated by AutoBuild
    -- Engine version used for asset build: FreeSDK.3.5.8.1120440
    sys_game_folder=GameSDK
    sys_float_exceptions=0
    log_IncludeTime=1
    r_ShadersUserFolder=1
    r_ShadersAsyncCompiling=3
    r_ShaderCompilerServer=1.2.3.4
    r_ShaderCompilerPort=31453
    r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0
    r_ShadersAllowCompilation=1
    r_ShadersAsyncActivation=0
    sys_PakLogInvalidFileAccess=0
    sys_spec=4
    r_stereomode = 2
    r_stereoflipeyes = 1
    r_stereoeyeDist = 0.2
    sys_CurrentHMDType = 1
    r_StereoOutput = 7
    sys_hmd_reset_sensor

    - Oculus set to Direct Mode

    and then I started the GameSDK.exe

    but all I got was a grey screen. Am I missing something?
