Playstation Move PS3 Move Controller?

I know the Razer Hydra is pretty much the "standard" motion controller being coupled with the Rift at the moment, but has anyone thought about using the Playstation Move controller with it?

I haven't used a Hydra yet, but I have a PS3 and the Move and the accuracy and latency is pretty fantastic. Games like Sports Champion Table Tennis control almost exactly 1:1

Check out the video at 5:00

Also a huge plus is that it's wireless, and since it's using a camera to track motion you can get further away without losing signal unlike the Hydra.

It seems people have successfully paired the controller with PC already too:

Does anyone here have both a Playstation Move and a Hydra? And what do you think of each as far as accuracy and latency? I also think the latency would be even further reduced using a Move on a PC considering they're more powerful than a PS3.

    Hey there,
thank you very much for your link of the PS EYE Driver for mac.
Puh, it was a long day of searching and investigation on the topic. I learned a lot, but there are several questions:

Now I know, that I need:

    1. the API "Move on PC" https://code.google.com/p/moveonpc/ for

2.the API "PS MOVE" https://github.com/thp/psmoveapi because it is only a library of Move on Pc so it should work on Mac, but only with I sight camera thats why you need to install - ( I don't really need necessarily ps eye I would be also ok with different cameras.. but how) -

3.the PS Eye API/Driver https://github.com/thp/PS3EYEDriver to probably get the Playstation Camera working and for implementation in Unity 3D I need

    4. "Unimove" a Plugin for Unity http://www.copenhagengamecollective.org/projects/unimove/

am I right? I watched several videos on youtube, on what github is and how to handle it.
I found out, that Github is something like a public Dropbox for exchanging and changing code, smart and easy.

I also read that the way of installation of the github codes always depends on the Readme instruction files. And I can clone a Version of the github code with a command in "Terminal". (or with a zip/ or the github program)

    BUT -
I am not sure where I have to copy the files, how to install it, and how to run the "examples" etc. what are delivered with the files.

I also question about, what to do with the downloaded File - API Move on PC from google Code. I can´t find something like an easy "setup" /installing file.

How can I see the right directory for the files. Is it all about copy and paste in the right directory? or do I need to run a setup file etc.?

Where can I get the information about the right directory? In the read me files?

Its really interesting for me to dive in the field of programming and code, but unfortunately I need to finish my Bachelor Thesis , so I am really happy about your help.

    Best wishes, Markus

You don't need "Move on PC", the code has not been updated for the past two years.

Using the PS Move API should be enough, you can find a tutorial for it using OS X (probably with the iSight camera) here : https://docs.google.com/document/d/16oB5jpbCpeRWb0o7w0b9bFbT3vEzWGqEPESWZUSCPuU/edit

For Unity you'll need a plugin, but UniMove only supports rotational tracking, not positional tracking. I've adapted the plugin to support positional tracking but it's not perfect yet and it's only for MS Windows for now : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrJGh6AQmf4

    Hi guys
I just wanted to update you all That I have a my PS move paired & working on windows with the help of Alexander Nitsch

    Links
    https://github.com/nitsch/psmove-pair-win
    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/psmove/anNzspo6Z3Y

While i still have some drifting issues the biggest issue I had of getting the MOVE paired under windows was SOLVED in seconds and has been rock solid since :)

BUT a word of warning as I have another issue that Possibly may have been caused buy this (CURRENTLY UNCONFIRMED!)

Basically I had not used my RIFT since successfully pairing the MOVE & over the weekend I took my DK2 and computer round to a friends house to demonstrate it to a few friends = ( minds blown ).
Instantly I noticed My DK2 was no longer working and i could not detect it in the windows monitor section .It took me 2 hours of problem solving to finally give up and install oculus runtime on the friends computer instead, and my rift worked perfectly on his.
The only change I made to my computer since the last time I used the RIFT was the PSMOVE pair and Im wondering if
this may have caused an issue.
So far My DK2 camera is detected fine but the problem seems to be with the RIFT HMD.

    Symptoms
Bootup results in the main monitor staying in standby longer than normal while the POST info is displayed on the HMD.
When I start the demo scene the window pops up on the desktop but freezes instantly = oculus runtime not responding.
I have had 1 BSOD witht he error RiftEnabler.sys.
just cant seem to get the HMD led to go blue while or see it detected in the monitor section.

If anybody has successfully paired there PSMOVE or uses this tool please inform me so i can isolate the problem.
so far i suspect a usb or driver issue
lexander Nitsch is doing great work so I want to remind everyone I cannot comfirm this caused it or the fact that pulled all my usb's out and reconnected them again.

Well i FINALLY got my navigation controllers...im 95% sure they are 3rd party and not sony official...which will probably make none of this work, any closer to hydra emulation?

Is it possible to use the Playstation Navigation Controller for the Gear VR? I don't mean motion control (though that would be cool) I just want to use it as a single hand controller for use in controller enabled Gear VR games.
    Thanks
