Playstation Move PS3 Move Controller?

I know the Razer Hydra is pretty much the "standard" motion controller being coupled with the Rift at the moment, but has anyone thought about using the Playstation Move controller with it?

I haven't used a Hydra yet, but I have a PS3 and the Move and the accuracy and latency is pretty fantastic. Games like Sports Champion Table Tennis control almost exactly 1:1

Check out the video at 5:00

Also a huge plus is that it's wireless, and since it's using a camera to track motion you can get further away without losing signal unlike the Hydra.

It seems people have successfully paired the controller with PC already too:

Does anyone here have both a Playstation Move and a Hydra? And what do you think of each as far as accuracy and latency? I also think the latency would be even further reduced using a Move on a PC considering they're more powerful than a PS3.

I saw that earlier this week, actually - the solution to that guy's problem was to remove the "static' portion of the clock_gettime declaration.

In any case, the problem I'm encountering only manifests once you have the PS Move API successfully built for 64bit. Unfortunately it's because of the CL Eye Driver being 32bit, so there's not much that can be done unless CL releases a 64bit version.

Quick update - I did find a potential alternative driver for the Eye cam. I'll test it out this weekend and report back. Fingers crossed.

Getting PS Move to work with PC would be perfect. It is cheap and accurate enough. I hope someone will find out how to do this. Fingers crossed!

Sadly no luck - the PS Move API assumes that it's using the CL Eye Driver, so iPiSoft's driver does not work.

Please post in that thread where I asked the CL guys for a 64bit platform driver. Maybe if enough people post about it they will release one.

All that said - it's still possible to get it working on 32bit builds of UE4, but that's hardly ideal since it means it wouldn't be available in the editor at all (editor builds are 64bit only).

In addition to that there might be some potential for doing a compatibility layer DLL in order to bridge between the 32bit and 64bit DLLs, but that's a little bit too much time investment for me at this stage, and from what I understand it might cause performance issues (both in general and in the tracking quality).

If someone wants to pick it up and get the 32bit build running, the code is still there on Github and available for anyone to mess with.

For now I just picked up a Hydra and will be using that for my game. Longer term I plan on coming back to the Move plugin for 32bit if possible (and/or if there's a 64bit CL driver by that point).

Trinity Magnum VR or whatnot (forget the exact name - the Kickstarter just launched) may provide a solution if they release their drivers for the PS3 Eye, but I dunno how likely that is.

Sorry for the bad news guys.

No worries, thanks for the effort anyway!

Still, it seems like all hope is not lost:

Oh cool, looks like they must have just replied.

When the 64bit CL driver is out I will definitely put some more work into the Move plugin.

Thanks for working on this! I'd definitely start working on implementing Move controls in my project if there was a UE4 Plugin. My move controllers are just gathering dust too.

The PS Move controls allow for much more dynamic movements and for a much larger tracking area.

My studio has recently been working on a PS4/PC game that makes use of DualShock 4, DualPLAY and hydra control schemes. The PC version is being developed with Oculus support and I'm going post videos soon showing updated motion-controlled gameplay and Oculus controls.

Wow, I've never seen those ps-move and navigation controller attachments. Are them custom-made?
