Single undistorted view mirroring

Hi everyone, I've been silently lurking these forums since the beginning but this is my first topic.

I'm developing an OpenGL game engine for a project at university and I have a basic graphics engine with Oculus support with the latest (0.8) SDK. Mirroring works fine but I really want to mirror a single undistorted view to the monitor instead of the standard stereo view, I know I saw either a forum post or an article a few months back demonstrating exactly how to do this but I can't for the life of me find it now. Any help would be appreciated.

Even at 60 fps, it's nauseating.
I also tried at 60fps with the OSVR HDK 1.3 and it wasn't nauseating. Maybe the Oculus' V-Sync. But this is another subject

I know that the game "The Apollo 11 experience" and a few others do this. So are they all rendering an extra frame just for mirroring?

As I understand it, parent posts are not talking about doing an additional full render just for mirroring. They are talking about doing one full render to an off-screen texture, and then blitting this texture into the Oculus owned eye buffer, as well as blitting it into the window framebuffer for mirroring. The second set of renders are much cheaper than the first.

I also wish we could pass some flags to ovr_CreateMirrorTextureGL so that it would render either left, right, both eyes, prior or after distortion, and maybe choose the layer to render.

I've actually been able to achieve this with deferred rendering with very little performance overhead, if anyone else wants to know exactly how this is done send a reply or PM me

Good point  . I'm still working on optimising this slightly further but in a few days I'll post code and explanations of what I've done. Also after I have handed in this Game engine for a university project, in a few months, I will be publishing the code for the entire engine ( although I'm sure someone else has made a much better Oculus OpenGL game engine than me ).
