Critical Bug: Infinite Registration Loop and Verification Failure on Meta for Developers

Hello Meta Support and Community Team,

I am writing to report a persistent system bug that is completely blocking me from creating a Meta for Developers account.

I have attempted the registration process multiple times. After waiting an extended period (including a 24-hour wait for a mobile verification code to finally arrive), I successfully received the SMS code, entered it, filled in all my required contact details, and selected my developer role.

However, despite successfully completing all these steps, the platform refuses to finalize my account creation. Instead of granting me access to the dashboard, it traps me in an endless loop and throws me right back to the initial "About you" role-selection page.

I have attached screenshots documenting this exact registration loop and interface state. Could you please look into my backend account status or escalate this bug to your technical team so my account can be manually created or unblocked?

Account Details:

- Full Name: Samrat Dhakal

Thank you for your assistance.

I am experiencing a registration loop in Meta for Developers.

My actual registration flow is:

  1. Phone/SMS verification — successful.
  2. Email verification — successful.
  3. I complete the profile information and select Developer as my role.
  4. I click Complete Registration.
  5. Instead of creating the developer account, Meta sends me back to the phone/SMS verification step.

I completed the SMS verification again and repeated the registration process, but after finishing it I was sent back to the SMS verification step again.

On the third attempt, Meta stopped sending the SMS verification code entirely.

There is no error message explaining why the registration is being reset.

I also cannot use the Platform Bug Reporting Tool because it requires an already registered developer account and an app older than 24 hours. Because this registration bug prevents me from creating a developer account, I cannot report the bug through that tool either.

Please escalate this as a Meta for Developers registration issue and check whether there is a backend verification/account state problem causing the registration to reset.

Update: registration suddenly started working after 4 days

I honestly don't know what changed.

After getting stuck in the infinite Meta for Developers registration loop, I stopped trying completely for about four days. I didn't change browsers, accounts, verification methods, payment settings, or anything else during that time.

Today I simply opened this page:

https://developers.facebook.com/apps/

Instead of being sent back into the registration and verification loop, I was shown the account type / role selection screen with Developer and the other available roles.

I selected Developer, and after that I was taken directly into the Meta Developer dashboard. There was no registration loop and no repeated verification step.

I am now inside the developer account normally and I am currently creating my first application.

I can't say whether Meta fixed something server-side, whether the stuck registration state eventually reset by itself, or whether waiting several days made any difference. I did not use any special workaround immediately before it started working.

If anyone is still stuck in this loop, it may be worth leaving it alone for a few days and then trying to open this page directly:

https://developers.facebook.com/apps/

I can't guarantee that this will work for everyone, but in my case, after about four days without making any further attempts, the registration suddenly stopped looping and I was able to access the developer dashboard normally.

I'll post another update if I notice anything else while creating the app.

Meta for Developers registration is stuck in an infinite loop. Register and Contact info are completed. After selecting a role and clicking Complete Registration, it returns to Contact info/Verify Account. The issue occurs on both macOS and Windows with different browsers. Please clear the registration block for my account.

Same problem here. After entering the email verification code, it loops back to the "Contact Info" section of the registration.

I am also facing the similar issue from last 2days.
It is so disappointing and tiring.

I complete the registration after selecting i am a developer.
Then, again i am redirected to verify and i stop getting sms verification code.

Exact same problem here i thought i was going crazy... Shall we say something to Mark Zuckerberk about this  ? #MarkYourDevRegistrationIsNotWorking ? What should we actually do ? i added my credit card, i enabled 2 step verification, i did everything. Why is this so frustrating ?

I've had the tab open since yesterday when it was broken. I woke up my pc after it was sleeping, went back to the tab (it refreshed itself), and it took me to the last step. I selected Developer and then Next, and it worked.

Maybe it's slowly getting fixed for everyone
