PTC v72 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

    Buetigame  I tried the power button 2-click but all that did was put my Q3 to sleep, then woke it up again.  So, I still never see the power off option panel.  Again, to fully power off I need to press and hold the power button until I get the power down chime.  Maybe this will change when further v72 updates/fixes are rolled out, who knows?  Cheers.

      TomCgcmfc Wakeup after shutdown only happens after performing an update while shutdown.
      And it was going down again after performing its tasks needed for completing the update, I think.

      Afterwards I have to do a long press of the power button to start again...

      Wishing you luck, that this will be fixed with next updates on yous devices.

        The new build is for the Mixed Reality Link features. Missing the add 3 displays. The app was updated a little bit ago too

        Anonymous  I also got another non-ptc v72 update on both my Q3 and QPro today.

        Q3 (same as yours) buiid 5047332.12760.510

        QPro build 5054528.9160.330

        Buetigame  Happy to report that with this latest non-ptc v72 update my Q3 now shows the usual power off panel with options again after pressing/holding the power button for a couple of seconds (quick 1-click to sleep mode and another quick click to wake up). 

        Both seem to work fine.  My QPro still has the old UI layout.

        Both still flash a passthrough during startup, followed by  screen showing my environment, then flashes to regular 'confirm boundaries' panel, then starts up normally.  Kind of annoying and unnecessary imho.  Cheers.

        TomCgcmfc Congrats mate! Also got the update for my Q3: 
        Sweet... 6,61MB - that's a hefty one 🤣

        But it didn't change anything, as far as I can see...
        (beside the version string of course)

        Anonymous Did you use the settings wheel in the lower right corner for adding up to 3 displays? You have to hover over to see and "touch" it.

        Mixed Reality Link is a really neat feature... not for "work" of course, why shoud I such non sense 😜
        No, for playing (PC-) Media directly to the Quest... (Cable-)TV for example as shown here.

        Meta go up for it!

          Buetigame I couldn't add the 3 screen until I did the update on the Microsoft app store and the headset. Now the add 3 screens are showing

          My change was adding the 3 screens on the remote desktop. Don't know what you all have on changes

          This update actually installed Gallery automatically after I did my factory reset. Last update, I had to manually install it after I factory reset
