PTC v72 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

    I found the update wasn't for my Remote Desktop. I found the issue. When turning on the experimental feature for Mixed Reality Link and installing the Windows App, I need to reboot the headset before entering in the Windows App. 

     Before Roboot, missing 3 screen add-on

    Anonymous You speak only for yourself...
    On my side: no changes, everthing works and didn't do anything addational to make it work. 

    I also forgot when I've done the last "factory reset"... did I ever?
    (maybe I've done it with Q2, maybe 😉)

     

    If there is some interest for it:
    "Mixed Reality Link" App also updates from 24.12.12005 to 24.12.17013 today.

      Buetigame a factory reset in my eyes is for me to see any differences, not to fixed any issues. I got 2 quest 3 now to have less factory reset going on. I like to compare in every aspect on what change.

      Buetigame  The last factory reset I've ever done was with my now retired Q2, +3 years ago.  Since then I've never needed to do a factory reset on either my 2 year old QPro or 1 year old Q3.  Also, I've avoided enrolling in PTC for the last 1.5 years and I think that this may have helped me avoid multiple rollbacks/resets that others seem to need to do.  Cheers.

        And why would I do alpha testing for Meta?
        If it had some benefit.... maybe... or maybe not.

        The devices need to work flawlessly, like they have for so many years.
        Starting with the Rift in 2016 (OK, no firmware updates for that, but for the desktop software).
        Followed by Q1, Q2 and now Q3... and even the out-of-service Q1 works with v72 Meta Quest Link!

        And there's a lot to do with today's beginning two weeks of Christmas break:
        Batman (now in german!), Metro and since yesterday: Alien - my christmas is safe!

          What happened to the official release note threads, e.g. "Meta Quest build v69 release notes"?

          Are we supposed to post in the PTC thread after a build has been released?

          NomadsAnIsland  With v72, when you check for updates you can now also click on what's new.

          It's been like that since v69 or 71. All I get is a blank page in my headset.

          And you can't post comments there.
