PTC v76 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v76 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v76:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v76" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v76 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

      Avatar for a video call ? or head on a stick..! No one asked for this apart from Meta's Bosses, as when they finally get AR glasses working it's the only way to convince people to dump there mobile phones for Meta's AR glasses. Lets be honest here most people under the age of 40 video chat rather than voice chat! So they are adding features that in VR in my opinion is pointless as you are in VR and so is the person your chatting with..!

            ahumaann & TomCf  please explain to me why you want a selfie cam ?? As only the quest pro has eye and face tracking. Without these the results are a joke at best! at least they could have implemented the voice to expression logic they where working on to giving a sort life-like movement, otherwise the person your talking too is really just seeing a picture with moving lips and hands.. Reminds me of Thunderbirds.."Yes Mr Tracy" LOL

            BTW it's called development for profit (that's what i'm talking about) No one develops anything anymore for the shear hell of it and because they want too. The last time I heard of someone developing something just because they could was one of the owners of google was building wifi balloons over a desert to bring internet to camels...???!!!! but that was over 10 years ago.

              I am unable to cast to my PC with the Meta Quest Developer Hub tool after the update. When I click "Cast" in MQDH, the casting window comes up but never connects. In the headset, I get an error reporting that "Casting has crashed". Casting to my phone works fine.

                  Standalone APK installs are broken again with PTC 76, as they were with the previous PTC release. Hope you can fix this before the full V76 rollout, unlike last time.

                    I am sure that we are on Android 14 now Serg.244210 but apart from the version number not much changes untill implemented except for a few permissions.

                      Yesterday, I was no longer able to cast to my PC using Meta Quest Developer Hub (wired). It would pop out the cast window but continue loading, while inside the headset a a pop-up would say “casting failed.” Today, after a MQDH update, the cast will open & function as normal but there is no audio going from the headset to PC. Others I know are having the same issue.

                        So what would upgrading to Android 14 bring to the Quest over Android 13 ?
