Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v76 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v76:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v76" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v76 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Seageart  I don't know if it's possible as V76 may be tied to the android 14 update, and as you can't roll back the headset to android 12, V74 may not be compatible with A 14.

I found out why the headset no longer connects to Wi-Fi since v76. It no longer supports the MLO option in Wi-Fi 7. In v74 it worked correctly. Disabling it allows me to reconnect my headset but I lose speed. Please fix this quickly.

    Multi-Link Operation (MLO)

Multi-Link Operation (MLO) is a WiFi 7 feature that allows compatible client devices to maintain simultaneous connections to multiple bands—2.4, 5, or 6 GHz—on a single UniFi Access Point. Instead of switching between bands, MLO-enabled clients stay associated with multiple links and choose the best one(s) for transmitting and receiving data. This helps reduce latency, improve connection stability, and in some cases, increase throughput.

    Update:
Apparently it's fixed with the small update of April 1st.

Anonymous youre probably right. Might bite the bullet and send my headset to a friend in the states so I can get a replacement. It sucks because I use my headset for work. But thankfully I still have a valve index

There looks to be a minor update overnight. The version is still v76.1020 but the volume slider in quick settings now reflects the volume setting.

This update ruined the performance of my app that I develop. It’s now running at 45 FPS (previously a steady 75), so I had to roll back. I unchecked "Public Test Channel," restarted my device, and then did a factory reset. But Meta seems to have completely f*cked up my headset, as I can't revert to the stable firmware anymore—factory reset just brought me back to this **bleep**ty v76! I'm stuck!

Firstly the reason it won't roll back is because this update also updates the headset to Android 14 (so i've heard) and when this happens roll back isn't possible!! Secondly this is the MAJOR problem with the meta PTC ... No information before hand as to what is being updated / changed / added / removed. If they did inform us then we could make a choice depending on our own circumstances ie like yourself if you'd known about the non roll back in this update then you could have held off until a public release !?

I have been in the PTC for several years now and many times I and many others have asked for change logs etc and not once has anyone ever gotten a response to this question..! It's as if you put the words CHANGE LOG into an email or post that post suddenly falls into the void....!!!

MisterC72 yes, we've had severe secondary account issues since v74. They were reported yet v74 was released anyway. A quick trip to the Orion Drift bugs Discord channel will show you that a TON of other users have similar (if not identical) issues. I've made a thread in the main forum and done bug reports if you want to back those.

Is this new in V76 PTC? Anyone else have it, or do I get to be one of the first few to try out a codec avatar??? (JK). BTW - the app that has the permission is Messenger.

What does it take to actually get v76?  Been in the PTC for years but this just ain't showing up for me.

Nogib  Maybe connect to your smartphone and check that you’re still enrolled in PTC.  Sometimes some settings change with app updates.  TBH I recommend opting out of PTC because I’ve found it often creates more problems.
