v.77 PTC Release Thread

The new v77 update with the updated ui just became available to me today. Im not really noticing any issues except its now tanking the amount of storage the system is using. I hope this is just temporary and will be cleaned up in future updates but i don't see how this could possibly take up 16gb of system storage

the new navigator button being full white is quite distracting and create annoying god rays. maybe make it darker color for dark mode users?

I thought this Navigator was meant to make things better?

1. In pass through mode,  it pretty much makes pass-through mode pointless as everything the cameras sees is blurred ! (Get rid of the haze effect make it all clear.)

2. You now have more actions to get to screen you want ! ie: open settings it closes Navigator, then you close settings and have to press the controller button to open Navigator, you open something else and rinse and repeat..! Is this because everything else needs to be ported over the navigator format ?

3. Good grief this thing eats memory and resources ? Put it on a Major Diet! (Yes I know it's in the PTC, but isn't feedback what your after?)

4. Who designed this ? Or did someone think lets copy Apple and do a piss poor job of it in the process. ?

5. In my opinion this SHOULD NOT be rolled out AT ALL and be taken back to the drawing board, You are building an interface for a VR 3D environment STOP thinking 2 dimensional and shoving flat windows in peoples faces.

The way this interface is heading is NOT for VR but for XR or MR or whatever you want to call it now ?? It's for your rayban's with a screen, which currently is a 2D overlay into a REAL 3D world which is fine with the current state of technology for glasses, but for VR it's just plain lazy!

My biggest issue is the removal of a clock from the regular view, if you are using a 2D app like the browser watching youtube and you want to know the time you have to hit the Meta button to see it. For those of us who need to see the time constantly because our ability to judge time is impaired due to ADHD etc it is very frustrating to not have a clock visible 

With the new UI i can't use the Voice Chat while playing anymore, because that big Call Icon Bar is always on now. So whenever i get close to it, the Pointer Cursors show up and i'm unable to interact in-game. Also it is still there in an invisible State after i hang up on a Voice Chat, so i need to restart the Headset after every Call. This makes playing, especially Shooters, impossible, when using Meta Voice Chat, as you always point those Cursors at that Call-Tile when aiming. This needs immediate fixing. Oh, and who thought it was a good Idea to make Notifications a clickable Thing where the Cursors would also show up on? 

If by any chance anyone at Meta ever reads these posts please take note and pass this up the chain of command until maybe it'll reach Zuc himself ?????

Simply... It's doesn't matter how good the specs on your hardware is, if the software's crap it won't SELL..!! Lets take the example that every Tech company wishes to reproduce.. "THE IPHONE MOMENT" It wasn't the only touch screen phone on the market at the time (even if Apple want's to make you believe it was!) I had a Nokia one! It was the way the software worked that make it such a smash hit !

So it doesn't matter if when you release the Quest 4 etc it has face and eye tracking, OLED panels 130 degree FOD and can bake you a cake?! If you continue to release just plain nasty software your product is toast!! at the moment you have the lead but 2 years time it'll be a different story, Android XR is already make big waves and reviews say its simple and easy too use..!! ding ding!! the bell tolls...! 

Hello there, the V77 changed everything, pretty cool but the hand interaction with the menu is still broken.
The new interface is too far from our face to be touched and cannot be moved closer while in passthrough.
So full hand and passthrough users are not able to touch the menu.
Is that a conscious decision or just a miss ?

I ALREADY REBOOTED MY QUEST 3 MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER THE UPDATE AND NAVIGATOR STILL DOES NOT WORK FOR ME, I ONLY GOT THE NEW WINDOW DESIGN, NO NAVIGATOR, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE.

dobkun  it could take weeks or months. they may change their minds and remove it from everyone.

I really hope so as it's total pants..!!!
