v.77 PTC Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v77 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v77:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v77" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v77 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

      Question.. ? Has anything changed since V74 ?? I've read all the latest release notes and read Luna's deep dive blog, i've had several v77 downloads, the last one was 1.3 gb in size and still it looks the same and i've gone through all menu's and nothing new ?? as far as this PTC forum is concerned the only thing that has changed is they broke PCVR AGAIN ??  We all know that features get released to select groups etc etc so has anything changed for anyone ???

        Hi everyone! Is v77 still in ptc? Im asking because my quest 3s updated when I turned it off. I turned it on and it was on v77.1025. Ptc is not enabled and never was. This version seems to be pretty buggy and would much prefer v76 which was more stable for me. I used the meta quest software update page and it's still on V77. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, is there any fix? Thanks

          offbeatkid Can we get an official comment regarding the Quest Pro Wi-Fi download speed problem that was introduced in V76 and continues to be a problem in V77?

            The UI for changing IPD settings appears periodically, even though no changes have been made. (The value is 00 and the actual value is not displayed)

              The IPD Value of "Min" is occasionally displayed in my Quest 3 as well. The real Value is set to "Max". 

              Also sometimes only one controller or one hand can do a click action in 2d apps and the whole OS. I have to remove the batteries to fix this or re-enable Handtracking. A simple restart of the Quest doesnt work as a fix for this. This Controller Glitch is quite annoying.

                To tell you, even on a Quest 3S with Virtual Desktop, the IPD also appears sometimes...

                  my Air and Cable Link has been broken since 25 April v76 Update, and im currently sitting on v77 update.  Will there ever be a fix for this?? i can not use my Meta Quest 3 for PCVR unless i use a 3rd party app. 

                  Please, at least a update of "Hey we are looking into it" would be nice here

                    Hi, I am in the same situation as blazenelvis - I never enabled PTC and yet I am on v77.1025 with no idea how to get back to a stable release. The mobile app shows PTC is currently full so no option to revert. 
                    Anyone any suggestions on how to get out of this version? thank you.

                        Update to my last post.  I joined the ptc program and it downloaded v77.1026. I then removed myself from the program thinking the software would roll back to a stable public release. After doing so, It prompted me to download a 1.36 gb update. I installed it and restarted my headset. After headset came back on, it erased all my data and had to go through the initial setup again. My quest 3s is still on V77.1025. Anyone else experience this?
