Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v77 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v77:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v77" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v77 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

baudinom  Are you saying that non-PTC v77 is now being rolled out?  I don't see any blog posts from Meta saying that this is the case.  Maybe provide a link.  Thanks mate and cheers.

The Quest Pro WiFi and Link issue means I am going to sell my headset any never buy anything Meta for the forseeable future. Family friends, forums, all will be warned away.

RandomMetaMan  Just be a little patient and I'm sure this will get sorted out soon imho.

Link is working fine with my +2.5yo QPro/rtx4090.  The current wireless 200-270mbps bitrate throttling  issue doesn't effect me since I only use my link cable for PCVR and it's working fine set to 900mbps dynamic bitrate.

My Q3 fortunately does not have either of these issues.  I normally use my Q3 for standalone vr/mr and wireless PCVR with Air Link, but it also tested out fine with Link.

    Hi TomCgcmfc baudinom blazenelvis

raised a meta support ticket and once I finally convinced them I had not actually joined PTC, it was escalated late on 16th. Not heard anything back yet.

I get the feeling that someone may have accidentally released v77.1025. When I check the version release notes, it shows v76 details, not v77.

If you also are not on PTC and have v77.1025, can you also drop them a support ticket? If there are multiple reports of non-PTC users getting v77 installed, it might make the fix a little higher priority?

    thank you

Update: Just got off with meta support. This is what I was told.

“It looks like your headset updated to version v77.1025 , which is currently part of the standard public release and not exclusive to the Preview Program (PTC) . This means even if you're not enrolled in the PTC, your device may still receive this update as it rolls out broadly to all users.”

“That’s why even after enrolling and then unenrolling from the PTC, you’re still seeing the same software version — because it's now part of the general stable build available to everyone.”

They also said that downgrading the software isn’t possible but suggested a factory reset, which I’ve already done. So I guess it’s play the waiting game until a more stable release comes out.

Sup everyone. Yesterday v77.1026 became available to me. But i seems to be refusing to download. The settings window glitches for a second, and then i get a notification saying the update was downloaded. But it really wasn't. Restarting does nothing and its refusing to update. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I really dont want to have to reset my headset again if there is a fix for it or meta is already aware of it.

    UPDATE:

after doing some more digging and checking the release notes for this version. It seems like it doesn't even exist? There aren't release notes for it on the changelog. The last version the site mentions is 77.1025. idk whats happening anymore but i have seen videos talking about recent issues with metas servers and other stuff. Ima just assume its that

The were obviously having a joke with you, as there hasn't t been a stable version since V71. 🤣
