v.78 PTC Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v78 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v78:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v78" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v78 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

      Thanks to Meta, the version update released on the 18th removed my travel mode, allowing me to experience the most boring flight journey. That's farking great.

      Welcome to borkdate central. Don't bother filing bug reports or highlighting it on the forums as meta just ignore them anyway.

      There is someone from support named Ilham who did not read the entire chat or email about my issue. Nothing works for me with version v.77. We now know that Meta pushed this broken update even though they were aware of the core level issues. He or she offered me 20$. This is the most ridiculous support I have ever seen in my life.

      If this is not a scam, which it clearly is, then connect me with someone who can actually help me fix all these issues or give me a full refund for what I wasted on this junk, as I still have a valid warranty.

        MDZMZM  Ilham is a bot, they're all bots. Their idea of fun is playing 'pass the human' where you get bounced round from one bot to the next without ever getting anything resolved.

            dobkun  short answer is you can't. Maybe a factory reset may do it. maybe you'll just have to wait for it to turn up.

            TomCgcmfc I got the update to v78.1028 retail channel yesterday.
            Coming with controller updates again and got build 5105226.10670.520 on Q3 now.

            Nothing changed so far and PCVR with Meta Link still works like a charm...
            Tested Alien Isolation with Grand MotherVR-Mod a while, it looks and feels fantastic!

              Buetigame  I got non-beta v78 today on both my Q3 and QPro.  Funny that the update said it was going to update to v78.1028 but in both headsets, after restarting/applying, plus another restart for good luck, the software panel that says it's now up to date and states that both are v78.1027  ???  My meta-link PC app is still on the latest non-beta V77.

              Anyway, all seems to be working well with Standalone and PCVR with Link and Air Link.  It does seem to startup the PCVR meta link void/dashboard a little faster and doesn't flash up the volume bar.  One minor complaint is that when you exit PCVR you end up with the Link panel staring at you.  No big deal, just cancel it and it goes away, until you get multiple link ready popups, lol!  

              Otherwise, I haven't noticed any significant differences.  Cheers mate.
