v.78 PTC Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v78 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v78:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v78" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v78 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

      So I am finally on V78 still no Navigator at least nothing like the tutorial vid they have here,

      I guess I am safe to assume this is just "get it when you get it" things agan? I mean I am always in Passthrough so it looks like something I would use from what I have seen of it, 

      Anyways I guess it's just a case of hurry up and wait?

      If you prefer to use passthrough like I do then the new Navigator is terrible because of the stupid mist that surrounds everything! it basically blurs 75% of you vision!! I've stated many times that they need to get rid of the misty surround..!

        Moriarti4 And they removed the travel mode in V78... This is ironic, a UI designed for MR glasses that cannot see clearly in perspective mode and does not have a travel mode yet. Meta did an excellent job.

          Atualizei primeiro para o V77 depois para o V78 e nada se alterou aliás desapareceu os ícones nas mãos e o suposto novo painel de aplicativos está exatamente igual

          Nem no V77 nem no V78 no meu caso o novo suposto navegador está igual aos anteriores nada de novo é treta ou será que para Portugal não funciona

          Already got non-beta v78.1027 on both my Q3 and QPro yesterday and it works ok.  Today I got a meta link pc app non-beta update to v77.0.0.1048.329.  I found I needed to restart everything (headset and PC) in order for this to work properly.  Now seems to work fine with Link and Air Link.  I imagine that a non-beta v78 will eventually roll out.  I only select the beta option if I have any major issues.  Otherwise I just wait for this.  Cheers.

            TomCgcmfc That's a crazy updatemadness...
            First I got v78.1028 at 21stJune as described before (build 5105226.10670.520).
            Today it says, that there was an update yesterday (and instantly began controller updates)...
            ...to v78.1027 (build 5105226.11360.520) - but it would like to update to v78.1028

            OK, I thought... do your 100MB Update and bring back v78.1028, but it doesn't... it's still v78.1027 with the build already written down. The Meta Link dialog changes a bit and it works as before... no downgrading so far. And the desktop app got an update... from 77.0.0.574.329 to 77.0.0.1048.329!? 😳

            What's up witch you dev guys?

            This aside... everything works as it should... including flight mode 😎

            INSTG8R75 You don't have to "assume"... it's fact... and could least "months" to get it.
            I'm happy, about that - if it comes to me, it's maybe finally fixed.
