v.79 PTC Release Thread

V79 the overall brightness is reduced slightly or amount can reduce contrast is reduced slightly compared to prior version. I run max brightness and min contrast in a few games and there is a noticable difference in the lighting between these versions when nothing on games end has changed at all. Example being strayed.

hmm, i don't know if it is coincidence or a real bug my update to v79.1080

i cannot connect the quest 3 anymore via usb and the android debug bridge (adb).

it just does not find devices but oculus link works via usb and i can also access the files via usb also reality labs composite adb interface is correctly listed in the device manager. also quest pro works fine via usb...

has anybody else problems find the quest 3 via adb in usb mode? (it is just not listed)
quest games optimizer works fine... 🤷

update: i could solve the problem via switch from usb "file transfer mode" to ptp...
i don't know why i have to to this but it worked :D

but now i have to switch to ptp all the time if i want to use adb via usb... and switch back to "file transfer" for file transfer. 

this ist not perfect :D
i still don't know if it is "me-problem" or a problem caused bei v79 :D

so if anybody has the same experience sind v79, please let me know, also if everythin works fine with adb via usb in v79 on quest 3 (not any other hmd, quest pro works fine for me too on v79)

Dear Meta Developer,

can you Guys stop making "ADJUSTMENTS" to Charging Algo ? I cannot charge my Quest3 anymore, it keeps rapidly disconnecting/Connecting while the Fan is going aswell ON/OFF.

I Quest3 was now like 5k Hours running over the Mainboard frontpanel USB C from the Asus z790 a Gaming Wifi II (The fronpanel USB C has a PD support). Now after the brilliant patch you broke Counter charging well done. 

You also broke now the Bobo headstrap which is also not charing anymore.
You broke before the split adapter (with Link and charging) with the EXTERNAL MIC UPDATE
You broke Air Link since v55

I bought a router 200€ Bobo with 4x Battaries 250€ and round about 6x new Wires because i though they where broke. so 120€
I bought Pro Controllers for 300€ to realize they are **bleep** (way to sensitve tracking issues only by pressing trigger)

so you guys just burned 600€equipment just because of your horrible software development.

ROLL BACK THIS DISGUSTING **bleep** UPDATE 

It's ridiculous that I logged out of PTC but still automatically updated to V79.1029, and then I lost MTP and couldn't copy data from PC.Cool.How can I determine if it is caused by the 1029 update? After resetting to factory settings, my version is V79 and I can still use MTP to recover old data.It's not possible now.

Can’t resize windows at all in v79, what is going on with meta?!? This stuff just keeps getting buggier and buggier. 

Meta support across the board is absolute garbage. Our business has moved substantial ad budgets to other platforms simply because Facebook offers minimal support help when we have ran into issues. My quest was one of my last enjoyable thing with Meta and they take that away with v79. Meta is slowly dying and they don’t even see it. I guess that isn’t a bad thing with where their direction of pathetic support is heading. 

Why does "Unknown sources" keep disappearing? (BUG?)

Your get help link does not work! Not surprised either Meta. Help or support are two words this company has no understanding of. 

I'm still on V78 how slow is this latest update supposed to be? I'm on the east coast does that matter??

Well, now my Quest 3 got stuck in an infinite boot loop and I'm losing hope of any answer or fix.  Even the Quest Release Notes page is out of date and has the wrong release order. This is honestly getting ridiculous and they need to address it.

And of course I had no choice but to factory reset. I'm not happy
