v.79 PTC Release Thread

So I saw this mentioned a few times about enabling Dev Mode on the phone app? Is this necessary? because until just this minute I had never even bothered to look at my phone app for anything to do with my Q3 since the original pairing? As far as my Q3 is going my Meta App is V79 and my HMD is still V78.1027, 

Now that I have found out about the switch on the phone app(when I switched my PC made the USB noise) Perhaps I have been doing this PTC all wrong with that not on, I mean my Q3 is working as expected I am always via Link cable as I am always using it stationary. 

Now I am wondering what to do now that I may have been missing a step(phone app) whether to stay on PTC and maybe FINALLY get to see Navigator or just back out of PTC at this point, but I am not having any issue either way...

Well on the plus side rebooting my HMD Dev Mode stayed on in the app....

I dunno I think I will go off PTC and see what happens and just keep an eye on this thread in case something interesting comes up 

Edit: my real main issue is the battery drain and Link “losing” my PC at random  I’m always using PCVR via official Link cable(you know because back on my Q2 support of course blamed the cable so I just made that a “non issue” 

Periodically the wifi will disconnect and cannot be turned on again until reboot.
Periodically the left controller will disconnect and cannot be turned on again until controller reboot.
Periodically the right controller will disconnect and cannot be turned on again until controller reboot.

Quest Pro compositor artifacting issue (rainbow sparkles) from v79 is 99% resolved in the latest PTC update I received today.  v79.1029 Build 5092736.6440.340

9th July Update . V79.1029 build 5115411.9220.520

Although the navigator looks better without the pink haze, the USB issue still is not resolved. Link cable still does rapid connect and disconnect using USB 3.2 gen 1 and gen 2 while using a Y cable for data to the PC and power from the power adapter of the quest. It also say's the headset is charging at a slower rate. 

1. USB Cable - I'm glad people mentioned the Y cable. I was using a cable that had the power box to connect, and upon switching that solved it. Meta's updates (even from V76) impacted USB compatibility - perhaps in fixing that issue (which was about USB3 Gen 1 vs Gen 2), the fix broke Y cables.
2. Hand Tracking after Link stops working - does anyone who uses PCVR/Link get hand tracking back if the pause link or quit? From V76 onwards, I loose hand tracking if I connect to Link.  This is somewhat annoying - I keep a controller around now but wasn't necessary before. I've posted this over and over and submitted a bug report yet nothing has changed.

puede hacer su trabajo y arregla este problema que se ha metido meta, ya que somo mucho pidiendo ayuda para esto y no vemos respuesta nada, puede hacer su maldito trabajo, no puedo usar las gafa por ese estúpido erro de vosotros.


que debemos hacer den solución o algo para hacerlo porque ya no se puede tengo casi 3 semanas sin poder usar las gafa. maldito hagan su trabajo

Well they finally got rid of the pink haze in Navigator ! Even though we all moaned about it and nothing got done about it until and I quote "Meta's CTO Andrew Bosworth said that he personally made the change, after not seeing the earlier design until too late, and disliking it when he did." So there you folks, all we need to do in future is Email Andy "B" and say "Yo Dude have ya checked out the **bleep**e you coders have done now !?" But apart from that what else has changed, removed or added ?? oh yeah Unknown sources keeps disappearing from navigator too..!

Even with the new 9th July update the PC Link connection is not working. Does anybody have a fix (Dev is already activated and doesnt help)? I cant play PCVR with a Cable anymore and Airlink doesnt work smooth for me.
