Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v81 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v81:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v81" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v81 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Does this fix the link cable issue that we've had for almost a year now that effectively ruins PCVR?

I just found a few different posts about the V 81 update, which made problems worse for some of us. My link cable was working before the update, and now it does not. I'm not going to spend my time tinkering with it, as I do not even know what they want me to try. As for me, I will wait and see.

Just updated to v81

This Immersive Home is a joke right? Only one floor plan - the scenery but everything else more or less stays the same. Like changing the skybox on the old Virtual Environments.

And how do you pin apps in the Home? I tried following the help but don't see the pencil/edit option. Where's a tutorial video?

And Apps seem to be prone to crashing due to lack of memory now. No wonder Quest Games Optimizer added a free memory function.

There is no "double tap for passthrough" on quest 2! I can't disable it. it kicks me out of virtual desktop all the time

v81 - Quest 2 - running low on memory constantly

Instagram updated and keep getting application stopped popups even after choosing to quit the app. Uninstalled - I don't use it anyway.

I agree. I do use Instagram to keep in touch with family overseas but when Im in my headset I don't want to be interrupted by social media. I uninstalled it too.
