Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v81 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v81:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v81" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v81 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

I don't know whats going on now. My PRO controllers just turn on flash purple headset gives me notification that they are updating and then the controller turn white light they start tracking but the tracking is wrong. I don't know if i did something wrong after the 81v PTC update i did with my Q3. controllers are on 1.47.0 firmware both are as show in my app on my phone. Im getting scared

Have to hold my controllers like this to make them face the correct way when wearing the headset

Try tethering to your phone check for an update to see if things change then reset your router and reconnect your headset. Sometimes this helps.

I'm not sure when the change came, but please add back an option to quit a running app when you go into passthrough. It used to be there, and is useful for those who aren't using controllers and are using Link.

Hi Using Quest 3s here. Updated to latest (ptc) and when recording gameplay the sound is jumpy and also goes silent. Kinda like a broken speaker? Also in regards to this new menu. It still seems to interact with our in game functions making it unplayable while like hiding a window. Also doe this with the camera bar. While selecting something in game the menu or camera menu just stops that feature working.

This update has screw up my pro controllers did a factory reset and still nothing the controllers tried to update flashed purple and then went to white again and then tracking is flipped 180 degrees

Honestly what a waste of money this Quest 3 was and Pro controllers should have gotten a Vive headset or Pimax and just deal with base stations.

IM GOING TO LOSE IT. WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BREAK SO FAST. LEFT HEADSET TO UPDATE TO PTC 81 UPDATES BREAKS MY CONTROLLERS. DIDN'T TOUCH NOTHING NOW I HAVE 2 PRO CONTROLLERS THAT HAVE TRACKING 180 DEGREES OUT OF PHASE

and yes i just tried repairing the quest 3 stock controllers. Well cough they work just fine paired just fine updated just fine track just fine. COUGH I wonder why my pro controllers don't work...

It's frustrating but if you don't want to experience bugs like this, don't be in the PTC program. It is what it says,, public test channel. Your device is used to detect bugs and your bug reports are important. No point in complaining about it. This is what is expected in unfinished software. If other headsets have a public test channel, guaranteed you'll have lots of bugs there too. Your best option ni matter what headset you use, stay away from software testing and wait for the finished product.

I dont understand how once in update 79 how the pro-controllers had an issue and then for this update it screws them over again idk how they do it but i guess they just do it. I left PTC after getting this update im done with ptc never touching it again just not worth the troubles now

I've read that now with V81 your PC VR games now show up next to your Quest 3 games ? Nope not for me they don't, so this is another regional release I guess???

My main question if it is the case is does it automatically load and connect link if you click on it.

Still no "move with me" feature return. It was vaguely hinted at that this would return alongside the new navigator. It hasn't. Meta has been near silent on this. Why isn't the feature back? why was it ever removed?

My quest 3 with the newest update. I had to join PTC again i was able to download the update and headset updated connected my pro controllers back and they updated no problem.

Meta thank you for fixing it but i will no longer sit on PTC now

Had at least another 2 updates in the last week, I assume bug fixes ? but I still don't get my PCVR games listed ?

I've had 3 ver 81 updates this month and don't know if I have the final release. None of the world icons work. They take you nowhere. Real VR Fishing says they have a problem with a feature in advance settings called "seamless multitasking" my Quest 2 and Quest Pro don't have that setting. Both keep coming up with not enough memory. Login to other apps and games no longer work. Am I the only one ? What is the public release number. Do we now have a memory issue. What's going on? Thanks
