My setup keeps asking for a business account email and I'm not a business

It’s obviously not hardware issue as mine asked for work email address but I managed to sort it . There are a lot of people that have had the issue after updates who have owned a quest for years . I’m sorry but I think it’s a massive cop out to tell people to return their headset . Typical response from meta quest  . Return headset or factory reset ?? . Sorry I’m not buying it

Same issue. I have Oculus Rift S and Oculus app. Purchased 2 brand new quest 3 from best buy. I have been puzzled for about 3 hrs. Never had this issue with my Rift S or PSVR. Setup for this is rediculous. Can't get past the organization screen. Purchased 2 so I can enjoy with girlfriend but she has also given up on it.  I dont have no organization. My rift S works fing and the quest 3 was added but can't do anything with it.

I am experiencing this same issue.  I purchased the Meta Quest 2 128GB Headset from HSN (Home shopping network) and they told me to contact Meta support because they know nothing!  Should I just return the item?

Just purchased MQ2 today (Walmart) new/unopened. Cannot access setup screen from headset. However, software (PC) said I need two accounts. Setup meta account (facebook) via PC, setup android app, can log in OK but PC generates a setup widow in the headset asking me for copy code etc. etc., for business account. Have no business, been retired since 2000. What gives? Better yet, how do bypass the business screen - or do return the defective rig to WM?

I just received my Oculus quest 2 and it is requiring the same thing from.  purchased through best buy, brand new. This is frustrating because I can't go beyond it requesting me to set up business account. Please advise, it's driving me crazy with frustration.

I have just purchased the oculus quest from amazon, brand new, and am trying to set it up for my sons birthxay. I am getting the same problem regarding a business account. Please can you help??

This happened to me as well. Mine was purchased directly from Walmart, I’ll be contacting them in order to try to swap

This is a terrible set up process. I bought the quest 2 for my son for Xmas and I have had nothing but trouble. I bought it new from Best Buy. The problem is the account set up. After having my account deactivated because it kept saying I had an incorrect birthday. It requested my id now it’s asking for a work email and saying it’s not associated with this account. This is ridiculous! Why is this so difficult for such a high tech company? Now I’m reading I should return it to the store ? Seriously? You can’t provide any tech support for correct this?  This isn’t a 100$ product COME ON….

Hey Martin.fennelly. That's pretty strange to have when you first get your device. If it was purchased directly from the official Meta Quest Amazon account, it shouldn't have any issues relating to a work account since that is exclusive to our business enterprise headsets. 

If purchased new:

1. Power off the headset entirely > Hold Volume down (-) button and Power button > Highlight Factory reset and press the Power button.
2. Try to reach out to the retailer it was purchased from recently in order to attempt an exchange.

im gettin this same problem with my meta quest 2 and i try to add the stupid work email so it goes away but after i put in the code it asked for a work email so i put in my normal email and told me some red writing i was too angry to even read all of that so i went off the business menu thing and all i can see is a pink purply sky with bubbles and my oculus button is not bringing up the menu either. Please help because i want something to distract me off stuff i dont wanna do anymore i personally think oculus running bonelab would be the best thing ever

Same problem here.  My son had to factory reset device after device froze.  Now asking for Work groups email and when i do it says that my account doesn’t exist.  

I have had my oculus for over a year as well. 

Finally found fix for this work email address thing . Drove me bloody mad . When headsets asks you to type meta.com/device into a device don’t use your phone use pC or laptop . If you don’t have one try another browser on your phone . I still had bit of problem adding one of my additional accounts but found it worked better buy using the Facebook log in on my laptop rather than the email address option . You have to be logged into your Facebook account though before you start the process with the account your pairing to headset !

Set it up with pc or laptop not mobile phone works better !!!
