I keep getting the controllers error message even though I have updated my drivers!! I have went on AsMedia's site as well. I currently have version 1.16.47.2. Can someone PLEASE tell me if this is the current driver, and if it isn't where can I go to download it. I have also ran Windows update.
We are using oculus rift on our robotics project and we have a problem with regards to the yaw angle. The zero value of the yaw depends on where it is initially facing on turning the oculus On. We need it to based on true north. Can someone give me an advice? Thank you!
Hello Everyone,I am an Engineering College Student, working on last year project of VR Simulator. I am working on a project of car simulator and I want to play a video which shows outside of car (all the things which we can see while driving car) for which we have already made recording. But I am not getting how to integrate it with our VR Environment.Kindly help me with this. Thanks
The Oculus Store rolled out their new refund policy today:https://uploadvr.com/oculus-rolls-time-restricted-refund-policy-gear-rift/For the Rift, customers have two weeks and a maximum of two hours play time to request a refund. While that seems reasonable for bigger videogames like Superhot or Lone Echo, I'm concerned about what this means for shorter VR experiences.Brief immersive projects like TheBlu or Firebird - Le Peri have been signature VR experiences that have introduced a lot of newcomers to VR. Almost everything in the Oculus Store's Entertainment and Experiences categories is well under two hours and can even be experienced multiple times within that two-hour window over two weeks. Some customers will see the value of having such items in their library, but it seems likely that plenty will graze, consume, and refund. What do you all think? We sold quite a few copies of our short VR experience last year through the Oculus Store, but if we were launching it next month I would
Hi boys and girls, Launched a new Gear VR Controller scripting product today on the GODHEAD VR shop on Square. This is a Unity scripting addon to be used with the Gear VR Controller and Oculus utilities package. This scripting addon makes it easy to add walking to the Gear VR Controller (variable speed walking in any direction by using the touch disc), and also makes it easy to add grabbing, carrying, and throwing of objects. (Yes, it's FUN throwing big weightless objects in a VERY safe environment!:)Here is a direct link to buy the scripting package: https://squareup.com/store/GODHEADVR/item/gear-vr-controller-easy-walk-grab-carry-and-throw-unity-scripting-addon-for-oculus-utilities-1Here is a link to the shop, for those that are more comfortable seeing the item on the shop: https://squareup.com/store/GODHEADVR/Note that this product is an addon for the Oculus utilities package supplied by Oculus. Also important to note that the by purchasing this item, the buyer u
Yesterday, the use of normal, open the device display black screen today, has been lit yellow, the system is windows10, graphics card is NVIDIA 1070, connecting HDMI interface has no effect, the use of DVI conversion into HDMI interface does not work, how to solve this problem?
Hi, Are there any good resources (official?) that offer documentation/diagrams on how the Rift, Touch, and Constellation communicate and for what purpose?
I have a client that wants to develop an app for the Oculus Go, and he wants to charge per use. This app will be used in workshops. Is this possible? If not, can I publish the app as a free app, and password protect the content? Using an internal user/pass mechanism.Thanks.
I am working on a personal project that need the use of an oculus Go. Can someone here tell me how it will be possible to put a vr 360 movie I make myself into an Oculus Go? This is very important for me to anticipate this. Thanks
Been trying to think if there is a way, but haven't got there yet, but.....is it possible in VR, (Facebook spaces and such like) to physically pass a friend a file from my local computer, and he can save it locally to his computer?A bit like the ability to pass photos to each other in Facebook Spaces, but with the added benefit of being able to save the file locally at the other side.Any thoughts greatly accepted.
And, is there any documentation on this that anyone is aware of?Thank you.
The goal is to create a screen capture tool that doesn't need OculusMirror.exe to be up and visible, the frames would be grabbed and saved from code.I started with the OculusRoomTiny_Advanced/ORT(Mirror Variants) sample, and have it compiling and running. I'm trying to pass in ovrInit_Invisible to ovr_Initialize, so that it doesn't show up in the Oculus Apps list. But nothing seems to render with that, except for the Oculus courtyard / menu app. I was hoping I could simply not call ovr_SubmitFrame, and ovr_GetMirrorTextureBufferDX would continue to pick up what ever other game/app is running. But I can't get anything to work.Has anyone else out there tried to replicate what OculusMirror.exe does?
Hi,First post to the forum... I'm building a hardware box that passes HDMI data through it. I'm using an FPGA development board for prototyping, and I've been able to successfully pass 4k60 video through it from my AppleTV, so the FPGA board has more than enough bandwidth to handle Oculus Rift video data. Yet, nothing shows up on the Oculus Rift headset when I connect things up. (The Rift works fine when connected directly to my PC.)I wondered if the Oculus Rift video content might be HDCP protected. Does anyone know? I don't have HDCP IP instantiated in the design yet and was hoping to deal with that later. For now, I am just trying to get the basic video connection established.Thank you,Dave
Ever since my HTC Vive broke, I was in need of a new VR Headset. I stumbled across the Oculus Go and saw the trailer for my self. I was thinking, no wires or straps? That's amazing right there. However, with that being said I also would like to know how long the battery life would last on an Oculus Go..?
Evening all,The team and myself are very interested in developing our recent release of Pixel Arcade for the new Oculus Go platform. Have development kits been released already? If so is there any other application that should be completed? Very excited to utilize the 'world playspace' it offers and feel it would be an excellent addition to the marketplace if we could release it there. Luckily we should have a quick turn around time due to the way we have developed the game heavily focusing on optimization. Thanks - best of luck with your projects.- Corrie
Is this the best place to find a developer for a commercial app we are considering making? we are not developers ourselves, rather a marketing company with a specific need for a genre of clients. Would have to be on the new standalone GO or other comparable standalone systems. If this isn't the right forum, could someone please suggest the best place? (google wasn't much help).Thanks.
Hi,All the rifts at our company now have a black display. We installed the march patch but that did not fix the issue. All computers the rifts are connected to say that everything is ok. The rift is connected, ect...Tracking also works when launching an app or in the setup experience. How can we fix this issue?
Hi my name is Pablo . I am an indie developer from Argentina. Though I´ve been working in the game industry for quite some time now ( mostly doing 3d art , also working in Unreal Engine and Unity ), I am a novice working in VR . I am currently developing an app specifically for Gear VR. and I would like to get in touch with other fellow developers from my country and other Spanish speaking lands .Right now I could use some help from someone already selling apps via the Occulus store , hopefully I can provide help to others within my range of knowledge. Cheers !
Good Morning everyone, i'm Gabriel from Tech-E Simulation Company and recently we've started a project that consists in a motion plataform with 2 seats for a Roller Coaster simulator, using 2 Oculus Rifts/2 Computers (as we already know that 2 Oculus doesn't work on 1 Computer). The thing is, there is a way to put these two computers in the same instance of a VR Coaster game?Because the ideia is to have them experiencing the same Coaster/Motion Plataform, but each one with your own Oculus Rift, just like this one on the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRAMJljonfsFor now i've found out only 1 software with multiplayer support called Epic Roller Coasters, but it doesn't have a lot of content, it's limited to 4 coasters only... So this is the point, first, can we achieve this idea of 2 Oculus on the same Motion Plataform/Instance of the game and second, wich softwares would support this? Thanks in advance, a nice day for you all.Att, Gabriel Almeida
Hi. Seems there is no way in the API to add overlay / popups / notifications etc. over running applications. Is there a roadmap showing if and when this will be available to developers?
HiI'm a big fan of Oculus Rift and want to create a VR cockpit simulator in my company. The thing is, the project is classified.I need to know how the Oculus works. I'm guessing the head mounted display doesn't require any WiFi communication, but what about the touch controllers? And the IR sensors? Is it possible for someone in the next room to hack my computer threw Oculus with WiFi or Bluetooth or threw the IR sensors? ( the computer is a standalone with no internet or network access) Thanks
I read a paper on VR motion sickness. Interestingly, we found that applying a nose to the VR would have a significant effect. So I tried to place a simple nose object between the oculus cameras in order to use it for development. However, the nose looks like an object in front of you and looks more like a nerve than a nose. What is the breakthrough in this area? I want to talk about various ways. Here are the resources for this paper.http://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2015/Q1/virtual-nose-may-reduce-simulator-sickness-in-video-games.html
Hi,Thank you for accepting us to Oculus Start! Our team is very grateful and can't wait to finish our game to publish to the Oculus Store for the very first time! My only question is that our head developer applied for Oculus Start, but the forum title is only applied to him, does that include the other perks are only applied to him? And how would we go at transferring those to the rest of our team? Thanks!
With the imminent release of Go in mind, arethere any VR media players on Android that incorporate smooth motion? I’vetried SVPcast but the result on my phone is not ‘smooth’ at all - stop/startand video breaking up. I useSVP in Whirligig with amazing results - the bigger the screen thegreater the perception of motion blur/stutter, so getting rid of it is hugelybeneficial. I don’t think I could watch video in VR without it now.
When discussing with John about the implications of his current research on RGB-depth 360 panoramas in mobile VR (TL;DR: perf cost to render is too high), he provided the ff. advice for implementing an advanced optimization technique for achieving the visuals seen in OTOY's synthetic stereo 360 photos in a game context:You can bake view dependent offline rendering onto crude geometric approximations to improve on the simple sphere or cube of standard stereo 360s.(link to Tweet)A similar optimization can be found in Hidden Path Entertainment's Gear VR port of Defense Grid 2. AFAIK it's the only published title on any VR platform to even attempt such a technique. While the results are mixed, the decision to pursue this technique should be highly praised from a developer's standpoint, and its value to the dev community cannot be overstated.
