Did Zenbane and Atmos73 deserve the ban hammer?

Title says it all, just curious to see the communities opinion.

    Let's be honest guys. You know the people that want Atmos and Zenbane back just want the forum to be entertaining again. Sorta like all the people that sit down with their popcorn and watch reality dramas on TV. 

    There should be a whole section on this forum just for flame wars- anything goes!

    i also have say this, there needs to be a more flamey section i seen on other forums and maybe zero policy in the rest. Take you fights to there,
    so we can watch, cheer maybe even make a little moneys ;)

    @vannagirl @tranceology3 I feel like flame wars should be argued in VR...like in alt space or something. Let people actually yell at each other until they get it out of their system .

    Besides I am also interested in the effect increased social awareness would have had on those derailments and attacks. As people have said, its unlikely certain people like Zen or Atmos would act the same way had they begun a discussion in meat space. Wonder whether being a VR avatar would have curbed the heat a bit as well.

    It's funny you say that @JED44. I did get into a heated argument in AltspaceVR with someone. It was a Vive vs Oculus argument and got attention from a large group - about 8 or 10 people. The funny thing was, people that were choosing sides literally chose a side and we're backing each other up, like some type of brawl that was about to take place - like the battles in Anchorman. 

    In the end though, it just became who could speak louder, to the point the Altspace mod came over and said... knock it off or I'll fry your minds to death - Sword Art Online style! Ha...just kidding. No, he really just said knock it off your distracting all the other people, which was funny cause we were all the people there, but we ended up just teleporting away to another room.

    @tranceology3 that is funny. I suppose the only real way to settle it then is actual meat space brawls. lol

    EDIT - Not that I am advocating a VR fight club.....but I am totally advocating a VR fight club

    I wasn't directly implying I've been banned in any forum before, this is actually the first forum I've actually been a regular to. I was talking about how I treated others irl, and I reformed myself upon realization of what my actions were doing and what the end of that road would be. I've never done more than a post here and there on tomshardware before getting the rift.
