Question

Shipping no longer delayed? + First Impressions!

I'm putting this in off-topic, since I don't want to get in anybodies way, and I know its mostly due to my own supidity and lack of presence.

I've been avoiding Rift news for a few months while I saved up to get one. I may not be a developer, but I'm a gamer who likes to test things to try to help out that way.
I ordered mine and expected to see it in a month or two, but from what I've seen in the forums, shipping is no longer a big issue? I even saw "Shipping takes 3-5 business days" on the order screen.

So my question is, has the current state of shipping improved or the sales died down enough that shipping only takes a few weeks?

Since a lot of us have shared the experience of waiting for our Rifts to arrive, how about sharing our first impressions as well?

Once your Oculus Arrives, just post how you got on with setting it up, how it handled, what you game/demo you tried first and anything else related!

    Thats harsh man. 20 minutes. You could walk there and back within an hour, and you still have to wait until Monday.
    I mean, mine's an hours drive away and I though that was frustrating :lol:

    Just one day earlier and we'd all potentially have them by now :|

    I can just edit the title of this one if you like. There's about 4-5 of us that post in here regularly, so there isn't much sense in starting a whole new thread for it lol

    Yeah sounds good if we have any troubles with certain things can share solutions as well hopefully we'll just be hyping it up all the way ;)

    I'll be honest. I'm not entirely sure how to set it up. I use 2 monitors and want it displayed on one as well as the rift, so I have pages of guides that I've been reading trying to prepare myself to it :lol:

    I've been doing the same thing all day, downloading the drivers, modding skyrim and minecraft, and downloading a few community-made demos that looked awesome

    I've done Minecraft, not done Skyrim though.
    I've only done Minecraft so far, as well as downloading a load of Demo's.

    Need to do Skyrim, just worried since I know you can't play the game that way, but still really want to try it. Don't wanna screw up all the mods I've already got :lol:

    nothing crashed, Im using latest version with all 3 dlc's installed, i also have all kinds of mods installed (terrain, weather, armor, weapons, bodies)

    That's the guide I was considering, I might try tomorrow and see if it works for me.

    I'm still trying to get SBS 3D films to play in VR Cinema 3D properly have either of you installed it yet ?

    I was the one giving you the Readme.txt advice lol

    Still not tried with anything 3D. Seems to work find with most 2D video's I throw at it, though.
    I have heard of another 3D player that seems to play 3D movies almost perfectly, but it doesn't have the cool Cinema surroundings, so it's just a giant floating screen.

    I just realised that lol, I've followed the read me but still having trouble :?

    Also I'm really eager to get the 3D working! I have heard people don't seem to be having any difficulty with the 2D and I've also got another player that plays all other files fine, thanks for trying to help though. I'm going to go for the VR Cinema experience first as quite a few people have said the "presence" is unbelievable so wanted the 3D effect as well :ugeek:
