Maybe they can live in harmony and support each other, lol:

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTX™ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

According to Steam this list shows today's most sold items worldwide. I wonder if anyone can find an Index Kit or Knuckles there... That is, on page 1... ;)

Some dude upgraded from GTX 1080 to RTX 2080 Super - and wasn't exactly happy for the VR performance results: <snip>

Now, maybe there's more benefit from the 2080 Super in 120 hz in Until You Fall?

On a 1080 at 120 hz
Frame time: 7.9 ms
Reprojection: 50%
Fps: 60

Here the 1080 can only achieve 60 fps - unfortunately so can the 2080 Super, because that card isn't 100% faster than 1080 and therefore can't reach the magic 120 fps either:

On a 2080 at 120 hz
Frame time: 7.9 ms
Reprojection: 50%
Fps: 60

Those numbers don't add up. 7.9ms is ~127hz, so both the 1080 and the 2080 should be able to do 120hz in that game. It is also weird that the 1080 and 2080 has the exact same times, looks like some hardcap or a typo.
And if the 2080 / 90 frame time for No man's sky was 11.2ms then that is 89.3hz,  so I find it hard to believe the 2080 was permanently stuck on 45 fps half refresh.

Normally performance is capped in 90 hz at 90 (1:1) fps or 45 (1:2) fps, and if the 2080 can achieve 90 fps more often of course average scores will increase. Likewise 120 Hz will be capped at 120 (1:1) fps or 60 (1:2) fps, maybe even 40 (1:3) fps and 30 (1:4) fps. The numbers are from a Reddit post, you can easily contact the dude behind the numbers on Reddit. You do have a point, I'm pretty sure my GTX 1080 can do 120 fps in Until You Fall, the rest of at least the GTX numbers look sound to me.

Check the replies on Reddit, the OP has confirmed that in Until You Fall both 1080 and 2080 performed at 120 fps in 120 Hz - and not 60 fps. Again that matches my 1080 performance in Until You Fall - but of course 2080 will be able to do more ss and still keep 120 fps 1:1, although ss 100% really looks awesome in the game - using the Index.

The makers behind Vader Immortal (Industrial Light & Magic) made two apps available on Steam which only support Index and Vive - both apps have very positive ratings. I'll check them out later tonight:

Trials on Tatooine is an old one, probably just updated for index. I did play it on the Rift. It's not bad but very short.

I saw that recent reviews were still positive and even though GTX 970 was the minimum required video card, the recommended was Titan X, lol - maybe these apps were ahead of their time. I like Vader Immortal a lot - looking forward to see how it all began! :) Also got Vertigo 1 for like $1.50 (90% off), gonna give that a try too - I guess tonight is VR History Night  o:)  :D
