@RuneSR2  What version of Revive do you recommend right now?  I'm aching to give it another go with my Vive Pro when I get my new Index controllers (hopefully next week) and get them properly sorted out with SteamVR to start off with.  Thanks mate.

I'm still on 1.9.2 - Tried 2.0, but got a severe error causing my rig not to boot - had to remove all hmds to wake up my monitor. I've been reluctant to go beyond 1.9.2 for now - and so far it's been working great, haven't felt a need to try to upgrade again.

Thanks mate!  Cheers.

I think you're posting in the wrong thread - this is the Index thread, not the G2 thread!

:D

(sorry for the bad humor, I couldn't help it - and I'm fully aware I'm to blame too )

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's getting uncomfortably crowded in here  :D

Then again, winning Luciferous over kinda feels like winning Georgia ;)

Since this is where I'm supposed to talk about G2 stuff now, I'll comment lol.

For the record, I'm happy Luciferous found an upgrade to the CV1. I don't partake in team mentality in VR. I'm not trying to win anyone over anywhere lol. Just like talking VR and trying to find myself a good VR experience in the meantime. None of the headsets out are what I want yet on their own but I'm quite happy with the G2 while I wait for that. The closest thing to my ideal headset right now is a frankensteined G2 and Index. Quest 2 bugs the crap out of me with the bars but it has a lot of other things going for it. An Index 2 would be quite epic and would be a first day preorder for me.

Well for the record if I hadn't left it in my cart when buying a game and actually bothered to check the price of Squadrons (1000 GBP is a bit expensive for a star wars game :), I probably would have a HP by next week.

However you have to respect Fates will ;)

Whoa that is a little extreme and troublesome, not sure I want to try Revive out now if it gets that much into the weeds to cause instability in a system booting up. I am rather fond of my well tuned machine.

I'm on the "nightly" build of revive which is actually more like monthly lol. I haven't had any problems.

Yup, system not booting did get me sweating, lol - a black screen could be like anything failing from cpu, ram, gpu, mainboard etc. It was kinda plain luck I just tried pulling out both hmds and then got the rig to post. Couldn't even see the bios before - just a black screen.

Revive 2.0 does contain some large improvements, like being able to see all your Oculus apps, and not just those on your default location. I have 4 locations and was wondering if I got too many apps for Revive to scan, lol.

Most seem to have no problems with Revive 2.0+, and Revive has been further improved in the meantime, latest version is 2.1.1. Or just go for 1.9.2 at least I never had problems with that one.

https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/releases

Revive does not go through a comprehensive QA check like new updates from Microsoft, Valve and Oculus - I think it's just one dude making Revive, and of course the software may be more prone to errors. The reward is getting access to all your Oculus apps using the G2, and that might be more than worth the risk...
