Here's mine...

I'm a huge fan of The Metal but I think I'll start with some of my legendary, less angry, favorites.

Probably my favorite band of all time across all genres is Primus. I've seen them live twice, and I've seen Les Claypool live in his solo act once.

It all started with "Jerry was a Race car driver"

For those who don't know Les, fun fact: he once audition for Metallica and they denied him based solely on the fact that he is far too damn good for them.

I've seen tons of bands live (Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Korn, System of a Down, Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God - to name a few). But Primus is the band that showed me first hand the largest mosh pit I've ever seen, and it was to this mighty cute song:

A few thousand people went ape shit at the 1:37 mark.

I hold in high regard just about everything Claypool releases; if I had to pick a favorite song it is simply, Here Come The Bastards

The Blues Brothers is one of the greatest movies of all time.
Sadly Matt Guitar Murphy died a couple of weeks ago, at age 88.
Matt is the one in the yellow tshirt.

Two animated bands have released new songs over the last month and have new albums coming soon.

Gorillaz - Humility
I generally prefer Gorillaz songs that have more Damon singing (rather than all the collaborator ones), so this one is on my good list.

Studio Killers - Party Like It's Your Birthday
At one point in the video Cherry is wearing a VR headset, so extra appropriate. :)

The Blues Brothers were an awesome band - the movie is great too, but I love the two live albums they put out officially.

Pink Floyd were never the same after Roger Waters left. The quality song writing just wasn't there and Gilmour isn't anywhere near as good a singer.

Roger Walter's solo albums were MUCH better than any of the Floyd albums after he left imo. Pros And Cons of Hitchhiking in particular was awesome.

Dream on. Waters was nothing. Sure he could twang a guitar like a true amateur and could think up the lyrics (well he was a radical greenpeace/CND type, after all and has a massive ego) Gilmour had to play most of his bass parts for the studio and the fantastic way the tunes turned out were all down to Rick Wright and David Gilmour, who actually knew their stuff instead of 'learning on the job' as Waters was up until The Wall. Thank God they weren't the same - look at the last Floyd album Waters had a (large) hand in - David Gilmour refused to let his name be put to it, even though it has some awesome playing by him on it. His singing always was way better than Waters, I can't believe you would think otherwise (unless you're totally biased, of course) - and have a listen to the Live 8 performance - Waters sounded really awful.

I know the Waters fanboys refuse to accept it, but anyone who knows their history will know the score (pun intended)  :p

I won't get into an argument over it, though - music is a personal thing and we each have our own tastes in any case, though as far as this goes, the facts speak for themselves and Waters had nowhere near the success that post 85 Pink Floyd had - or even solo Gilmour had and has.

Completely agree; as should most with an actual ear for music. Gilmour was a better guitarist, sure, but this isn't a guitar competition. Waters could do the one thing Gimlour could not: Create a masterpiece.

The biggest reason people started to turn a blind eye to Waters and favor Gilmour was because their 'dirty laundry' became exposed; specifically the fact that Waters is extremely difficult to work with and he's a huge egomaniac. But anyone who lets personal judgement get in the way of appreciating musical composition is a long way from understanding either music or composition.

I don't see any fanboys, just musical opinions. In fact, you're the only one with an emotional reaction - which I suppose makes your more of a fangirl in this case. Either way, try having an intellectual approach instead of just flinging poop. There's enough monkeys in the world for that.
