Can't add a second user to my Oculus Quest 2

I am trying to add a second user to my oculus and when I go to do it and press the add accounts button it comes up with an error straight away saying "Something went wrong. Please try again later." It also keeps trying to get me to put in a code on www.meta.com/device even when i try to play a game it closes it and brings up that screen. Any help would be apricated

    Hey Playjamin! We definitely want for you to be able to play your games and access all the features of your headset, and we're here to help! 

     

    From what you're saying, it sounds like the root cause of this is that your headset hasn't been paired since updating to a Meta account. Have you been able to put in your code from your headset to http://www.meta.com/device? Once you do that while logged in to your account, it should pair, and then you should be able to do everything and get into your games! 

     

    Let us know if that works, or if you need any help along the way. If you get any error messages while trying to do that, send us a screenshot so we can figure out what's happening!

    Hey there! I see you're having issues with adding a secondary account on your account. This is not the experience you should be having and I know it is annoying 😞 However, I was wondering what version is your headset on and Meta Quest App version. 

     

    I have see a few users with this similar issue they are having issues app sharing to the secondary accounts thought. 

    We are all mad here.

    For anyone else running in to this, I think the fix for me was to first setup the mobile app for the secondary account and have them create an avatar there. I then removed their account from within the headset (using the primary account) and then re-added it.

    Yes, I think I did pretty much the same thing, only I didn’t delete any account. The secondary account has to be created first, either in the meta app or at meta.com. While it appears it can be done in the oculus, and should be, it can’t! Once it’s created, then you can go into add user from the primary account and they’ll be able to be added there! Hope this helps anyone else out there!

    Same here but  it's just sending me straight to the code and when I put the code in it wants me to add my main account then it says error account already exists or something

    mine is simaler its just not showing password to make an account with phone

    Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in here and report that I'll be locking this thread since it is pretty old now, which means it could have a different root cause than the original post back in 2022.
