Disable Head Cursor Dot/Circle (BUG)

Hi,

I was wondering how to disable the head tracked dot(cursor) when I'm not using the Oculus controllers. I'm running an APK, and after a while of not using my controllers, they go away (sometimes in my face, but that's another issue), and it shows a white dot that can be used as a cursor (using volume buttons to click).

However, when using an android app with a gamepad, the dot is incredibly annoying, and makes the experience unplayable. So how do we disable the dot?

Thanks,
Peter

Thurrakand HenrySuen . I marked this problem as solved, as my initial issue was with having a Gamepad and the dot. However, I'll unmark the solution for you guys so hopefully it will gain more traction.

Also pinging some Meta mods. Any resolution coming for this? @MetaQuestSupport TheAntiSocializer AliceinVRworld

Yep just going to keep commenting on this thread until these devs do something about it...

I have another problem with this - it seems like sometimes when in "dot" mode, it then won't switch to hand tracking no matter what, even if I keep waving with my hands right in front of cameras. I have to take controllers in my hands again, put them down, and only then it will switch to hand tracking properly.

This is such a glaring issue. This needs to have some sort of workaround as it makes the experience of watching any video unbearable unless you are holding a controller or have your hands where the headset can see them.

Do not underestimate the number of people who are purely annoyed by this highly intrusive and unwelcome "dot"! Not everyone has the reflex or takes the time to write to you!

This option is pointless.

P.S.: Take the opportunity to turn it into some sort of "eye-tracking" that we could activate on command if we feel like it. The "dot" would appear, and we would just need to pinch our fingers to simulate a click. This would be an excellent proto eye-tracking.

In short, get rid of it, please don't be lazy or deaf to feedback!

Thank you in advance.

Hey everyone! There's been some good feedback for different options about this dot feature while watching any videos/movies.

As previously mentioned many times in the thread, we do recommend posting this feedback in our Ideas boards because that is where our engineering team specifically look for any feature changes to bring to life in future updates. It may not happen immediately, but if they see enough feedback there they will definitely listen and work to better the experience for everyone.

Along with that, if you believe this to be an issue, I would definitely suggest putting in a bug report which will go directly to the engineering team as well.

As for this thread, however. The Original poster has mentioned that their original issue which was posted a couple years ago has now been resolved so I will be locking this thread.

Again, I do highly recommend the Ideas boards as it's the best place for this kind of feedback. Thank you for your understanding with me on this.
