Hey everyone! I went ahead and flagged this with our internal team, so they will be continuing to work on/look into this topic.

With that being said, the best option I can really recommend at the moment would be to submit bug reports wherever you run into this so that our engineers can get more back-end information.

Bug report natively.

Bug report on PCVR.

Thank you everyone!

I'm also having the issue with the artifacts. Just started after v60 update but I'm only noticing mine so far when using virtual desktop to play pcvr games. Are you seeing it on standalone games or no?

There clearly is something going on with this update and you're right I wish we could roll back.

technically, VD is a standalone “game”. its an app you install natively on the Quest. I notice the artifacting in all standalone apps and games just about. the only place i havent seen them are through Airlink and possibly Steam Link but havent tested that one enough.

Hey there cpt.cevapcici! Thank you for providing that insight. Are you still experiencing any problems with any of your devices? Have you had a chance to try any troubleshooting steps? If you have, could you let us know what you've tried so far? We'd love to explore the available options for you!

a gave the first three back to the store because i thought they were BROKEN. my 4th headset now did a forced update to v.60 even though i set automatic updates to off in the settings.

artifacts are only happening in PCVR. And my pc is not the problem because as soon as I start screen recording in the quest 3 headset the artifacts are gone

i am quiet angry about this. now in v.60 i have massive screen artifacts and charging problems while in use AGAIN.

Please MetaStoreHelp give us customers, who like that product a oppurtunity to downgrade back to a working version. it cant be that hard.

i can imagine much people are going to refund their devices because they think it is broken

Dude you're describing exactly what I've found... I tried to take a video of mine as well so I could show ppl but when you start recording, it goes a away. I can't understand why that would make a difference.

After the last q3 update I have something wrong with the screen. Artifacts have started to appear. At first I thought it was the laptop's fault because I mainly play HL: Alyx but I tested the graphics card in the laptop and it is ok. Today I got the same thing in Project Cars and changed my computer to a desktop. The worst thing is that I noticed it also on the home screen without connection to the PC. Clearly this is an q3 problem. They appear at random times. Sometimes right after turning on the q3 itself. Sometimes after a long time. They appear for a fraction of a second but are quite noticeable. Has anyone noticed a similar problem?

As you can see from the video above, I get some white pixels flashing on the screen of my Quest 3. This always happens when I watch movies in Skybox or Virtual Desktop and can get worse when my head is moving. It's very annoying and disturbing. But when I'm using old version of Skybox (1.1.0) the problem doesn't show up.

So is this a software bug or hardware related issue? I've seen many people also get this problem since months ago, that's a very long time. I hope the developers of Meta can take it seriously, at least, let us know you are trying to fix this issue.

The exact same thing is happening to my Quest 3. i just started noticing it today. Quite distracting when I use passthrough and other apps like Prime. i think its a bug that came with the last update. Hopefully the developers will patch this up. Im sorry this is happening to you. Im just glad to know that Im not the only one with this problem.

I am also having this issue. Its not just in pcvr even. It happens at any time with any game. PVCR or not. Started with the 60 update.

I've seen this a few times on my Quest Pro as well but can't figure out what's triggering it, I am not using PCVR but it has happened a few times to me in specific situations.  I'll try to track what's happening but 100% believe it's an issue with v60 on the PTC.

It does feel like having a way to rollback to a previous version would be helpful because often we have no idea what issues might come with an upgrade and it's probably more rare that people have a backup device to test with.  I personally don't mind so much until something annoying happens like the return of the choppy audio in recording and hand tracking I'm experiencing in v60.  Maybe if I used PCVR more this would be as annoying to me as well.

With Android ROMs if the devs release something they know might have issues, they will list those potential issues but I suspect with the PTC builds it's unclear what issues might come up for specific use cases so that makes it harder to release a early build and know for sure it will be stable for most people.

I try not to assume it's a user error and also agree it can be frustrating when there are a lot of troubleshooting steps that seem irrelevant, ideally someone could explain why trying those specific things might help but in this case it seems very clear this is a v60 update issue from my perspective as well.

Hopefully the next update will release soon and stablize things for those of you in this thread and people getting new headsets for the holidays 🙂

Like many other have said. I am also getting artifacting after the v60 update. Sounds like others have had it for longer than that but mine just started with this update. It happens all the time both in standalone games and PVCR. I've tried everything I can think of. As well as other recommendations. Nothing works.

I'm also having this issue - artifacts most visible with Half Life Alyx using Virtual Desktop with version 60.0

No problems with Asgard Wrath 2 or games running natively on the Quest 3, so it seems like it might be a GPU issues when streaming.

Please fix this.

It happens on native Q3 apps... Just open the Prime video app it has white dot artifacts all over in the darkness around the video screen. Also have had horrible artifacts opening/closing the menu in Arizona Sunshine 2 (worst areas are start of chapter 2 or chapter after the train crashes)

Artifacts also on every loading screen including in Arizona Sunshine and Asgard's Wrath 2. Haven't seen any during gameplay in Asgard's Wrath 2 yet, but they're on loading screens sometimes.

It's probably going to come down to the game itself so whether it does standalone or not depends on who is playing what but everyone using pcvr is experiencing it because it's taking more power from the headset to decide. I think what has actually happened is that Meta has overclocked the gpu on the quest 3 too much and that is what is causing this. They didn't thoroughly test it. To fix it all they would have to do is back down the gpu max clock a little or maybe it's a voltage issue but I've seen these artifacts when over clocking PC gpu's before. Respond to @TheAntiSocializer's post and answer the questions because nobody is doing what he asked and it seems like he is trying to help get this noticed by meta.

There's no way it has anything to do with power. I've turned every single setting to low (lowest resolution/refresh rate and power saver) in quest game optimizer, and it still happens the exact same way. There's no reason to answer any questions, it happens on every headset (at least the few people who own Q3's that I've asked) in Prime Video, they should just look there. My return window is Jan 13th so if it isn't fixed by Jan 10th I'm simply returning the headset. I'm not sure how anything was released in this state in the first place.

It has something to do with black/darkness because the artifacts only show up in dark areas and loading screens which are mostly black.
