Quest link not working with Quest 3

I just updated my Nvidia driver to the most recent version (537.58), and now Quest link just isn't working at all. Tried uplugging and replugging the link cable, nope. Tried restarting the headset, nope. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey everyone! The engineering and product team has reached back out to me and provided an update.

It looks like they won't be able to get the necessary information through here on the forums, but they did want to look into everyone's logs to get a closer look. I highly suggest testing out PTC and if that doesn't work, reaching out through a support ticket so they can gather the logs and provide some more in-depth assistance.

It's incredible to see Meta's disregard for its consumers, 10 pages full of users with the same problem since October 2023 and no solution, no fix.

This is a RIDICULOUS situation.

I bought my Quest3 recently, my computer meets the minimum specifications and the glasses simply do not detect Windows via cable, but via WiFi it is detected.

I tried everything that was written on 10 pages and nothing worked.

I repeat: you are ridiculous Meta support.

I thought it might b useful to include my current best Link setup information that has worked well with my Q3 and QPro (also with my now retired Q2) with v60.  This is with a very high end PC but I think that it can be easily modified for those with less powerful PC's.  Some may also find this useful for Air Link (I use same but with 200mbps dynamic bitrate) and some maybe even useful for those who prefer Virtual Desktop (which also works very well for me).

I currently use (v60) use a standard usb3 link cable; oculus desktop app device usb speed test= 2.4Gbps. This is with my i9 13900k/rtx4090/32Gb 6400ram desktop gaming PC.

Oculus Desktop app device graphics settings 80Hz (my sweet spot) and res slider full right (1.4x in my case). Settings/general tab/ oculus runtime default OpenXR. Those with lower spec gpu's I suggest just moving the res slide a few notches left from full right, maybe down as low as 1.0x)

ODT all default/zeros, except ASW = off, distortion low, encode bitrate 500mbps, link sharpening normal.

I use the Oculus Tray Tool (google to find it) to help fine tune game profiles and ASW settings, but you can do the same manually with ODT. You can also tun off ASW manually with ctrl+nun1 (numeric keyboard 1 not top row 1) and you can do this on the fly. You can also set asw and force 1/2 your refresh rate fps (40fps in my case) by pressing ctrl+num2. BTW, you cannot do this (or use OTT) with VD because it doesn't have the official Oculus sdk's.

SteamVR; set % visuals manually (not auto) to 100%. For simple apps you can try higher % visuals on a per app basis.

Nvidia; latest drivers, using DDU to properly uninstall previous drivers beforehand. Google how to do this. Nvidia control panel global 3d settings all default, except power = prefer max performance and change quality filtering default quality to high performance. Also, I custom install without adding nvidia experience.

Win10/11 graphics disable hardware acceleration graphics (HAGS) because it can cause a lot of stuttering in VR. Turn Game Mode off (may not make much difference).

Anyway, I hope that some users find this useful.  Cheers.

Solution to get Windows 11 working with Quest 3 Cable Link   -  Follow this Info  from Oculus support.   The solution for me was the last Step, so you could try that 1st .   I have posted this because I couldn't find solution on the WEB at all .   Thus if you are getting Windows 11 Link connection Issues I'm sure the solution is below.

Repair the Meta Quest app

1. Go to https://www.meta.com/quest/setup and click Download software.
2. Select Repair.
-If Windows asks you if you’re sure you want to open this file, click Yes.
-If Windows Defender prompts Windows protected your PC, click More info and then click Run anyway.
-If your antivirus software restricts the file from opening, temporarily disable your AV and continue.
-Please remember to re-enable your antivirus software once you've completed the repair.
3. Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
4. Launch the Meta Quest PC app.

Install the latest Meta Quest drivers.

1. Close the Meta Quest PC app.
2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers. (File path may be different per user based on the install location)
4. Open oculus-driver.
5. Open the Meta Quest PC app and then try to connect your headset again.

Confirm the USB power settings

1. Open Device Manager.
2. Locate your USB ports - Expand the universal serial bus controller section at the bottom of the list.
3. Look for the "USB 3.0/3.1/3.10 eXtensible" items.
4. Right click and select Properties.
5. Navigate to Power Management.
6. Ensure that the options to save power are deselected.

Check for Selective Suspending

1. Right-click the Start menu icon
2. Click Power Options
3. Click Additional Power Settings
4. Click Change plan settings
5. Click Change Advanced Power Settings
6. Find USB Settings
7. Make sure that Selective Suspend Setting is set to Disabled

Cold start the Quest headset

1. With your headset on, hold the power button on the right side of your headset down until you're prompted with a shut-down screen.
2. Select Shut Down and wait a few minutes before you reboot your Quest headset.

Update to your latest USB drivers

THIS WAS THE SOLUTION !!! FOR ME

To further check on this, please manually assign the GPU:

You can use Windows to manually assign which GPU is used by a specific process. This should have little to no side effects. To do so:

1. Close the Oculus Desktop software
2. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
3. Select Classic App from the drop down and click Browse
4. Select the OculusClient.exe
(By default, this will be installed C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe)
5. Click Options > High Performance > Save
Ensure the "High Performance" option has your dedicated graphics at the top of this menu.

Hey everyone. I am late to the party, just got my Quest 3 in today. Did an nvidia driver update, caused my Quest 3 to no longer be recognized by the Occulus app. Tried all the solutions here by everyone (thank you all). But none of them worked.

Last thing I tried was fully uninstalling the occulus app, then restarting. And installing the app again. App now recognizes the headset and functionality is back to normal.

Guys for those who see it GREEN in Oculus, connected but when you go from the headset to link and connect you get three circles loading, I've been struggling for hours spinning in circles, applying every fix here, but almost none worked. What worked for me is the following
Updated GPU drivers,
Updated BIOS drivers,
Reinstalled Oculus, and Reset to factory the Headset.
after i've done that i also deleted all App data folders they mentioned in some page at start,

I reinstalled Oculus, went back tried, not connected.
I go and open the Oculus Debug Tool and I immediately notice that all the settings were THE SAME, so they never got reinstalled nor deleted. At that point i looked through all the settings in the debug and i set PC Asynchronous Spacewarp to Auto and set Video codec which was on H.264 or 265(dont remember which) i set it back to Default. I reconnected it and tried again and it worked.

I hope this will help some of you
If it wasnt those settings just reset somehow to default all Debug settings, might help you...Im sharing because it drove me nuts and if it helps one, im happy

For anybody who finds themselves here as I do every 6 months or so - try shutting down your quest 3, not restarting it.

This time my quest 3 apparently had a pending update that caused my quest link to disconnect and not allow me to connect again. Going through settings to check for updates showed no pending updates, and restarting the headset also did not install the pending updates.  It was only after I went to completely shut down the quest 3 out of pure frustration that I finally got the "Quest will shutdown after installing pending updates" message.  Link cables went back to working normally after that.  Air Link also functioned just fine the entire time too.

I have the same problem, at the beginning 3 weeks ago everything was OK with air link and Quest link. Now the cable is seen, the test is good as 2.3 or 2.5 Gbps (tried 2 different trend cables) the Quest 3 connect and display a picture with a grid and the selection board bot in air and cable link,BUT the picture is not stable, the side of picture are teared off and the controller while actives, are unusable because they don’t position as I want. So the whole thing is not usable with same bad behaviour in air and cable link. It works perfectly with Virtual Desktop

For those using elite strap with battery, restarting the headset with the battery unplugged worked for me.
