[Resolved] - Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery only connects for a few seconds

Is anyone working on the Quest 3 elite battery issue? It charges but won’t connect to the headset for more than a few seconds, meaning you cannot charge through the back port.

My case, open since November 4th, still isn't resolved. They keep asking me for a number that is not on my strap and a number from a box I didn't keep. I bought the quest and the stop on vacation. I didn't keep the boxes, I put everything in the travel case I also bought. I got back from vacation and discovered the strap battery doesn't work.

They want a number that starts with 2G0YC. There is no such number on my strap. They want a serial number from a box I don't have. They want me to send the strap back.

I sent photos of everything, I can only assume they somehow didn't get the photos. Because I never hear a response when I send hte photos. I've sent them 3 times. I just took new photos so I could read all of the tiny, light grey writing and check every letter for those numbers. They aren't there.

Just last night, a month and a half after I opened the case, I had to quit playing because my battery was low while I'm wearing another battery I can't plug in.

As long as they have some proof of purchase you should be ok, I sent the photo of the strap too as I couldn’t read it either

I finally got my replacement battery strap yesterday. After an hour or two of use, the headset was no longer recognizing it. I unplugged it and replugged it. It still wasn’t detected. I held down the button 15 seconds to reset the battery strap and it was detected again. I’ll see how long that lasts, but it doesn’t fill me with confidence. .

Well I tried yesterday morning. I used the whatsapp function and was told that an agent would get assigned as soon as possible almost 24 hours now and still nothing from Meta support. I've now tried the email option. Really not happy with the lack of support. If it's a known issue, why wait for us to contact you.

Just received replacement (UK), all brand new, seems to work currently has taken since 21/10/23 initial fault to get a replacement, had to use both the whatapp and mail, (took 7 days to get a response via whatsapp) good luck all... fingers crossed it stays operational.

Yeah my replacement came and works fine so far. Manufacturing date of this month too so clearly the new batch

Mine has just arrived too, seems to recognise when plugged in, let’s give it a few days of testing and see how it goes, tbf my original worked for a few days before it went Pete tong. Although I have some faith now, Meta can’t get it so wrong a second time round… could they?

Mine arrived today as well, way earlier than expected. Everything seems fine (not a replacement in my case). Battery report is interesting because it reports the total for both headset and strap, but if you hover then it'll give 100% for the headset and the rest for the strap.

Side question: this is something only that I only noticed slightly without the battery strap but now it's shouting to me with it. When it's powered down and I press the power button just for a moment to check the battery's status, the text is heavily tilted to the right. The loading Meta logo is as well but it's much less noticeable.

I thought this was for particular unit but I have two bought over the last month, one from Meta and one from Amazon and both have the same problem (it seems to be an incorrectly calibrated IMU).

Is this not happening to anyone else in this thread?

I'll reply to myself to the tilting problem: after some external help today I learned that due to the shape of my face it's only comfortable for me to wear the headset fairly tilted. This is noticeable within the headset only in views where there's a head lock, not a horizon lock.

Have not looked since I returned mine some time ago, is the issue actually resolved? I tried to find one on BestBuy and Amazon and it seems it's been pulled, no one is selling it?

Currently only the meta store is selling this product as a new batch has now been manufactured and is just being rolled out to people who purchase via the meta store or who are going through meta support to get a warranty replacement.

To add to the above I have just recieved my new elite strap with battery and the box is showing a manufacture date of 12/2023 so I'm guessing I have one of the new batch.

I'm based in the UK and I contacted Meta support about a week ago and pointed them to the issues that had been well publicised and they offered to send me out a new strap without the need to return my defective one.

It seems that these are only just being rolled out so it will be interesting to see if the issue is resolved permanently for most people in the coming weeks.

They are sending me a new batch strap now without having to return any old ones. Lets see how the 4th strap holds up
