Question

V78.1028 failed to install on Quest 3s

V78.1028 has appeared on my Quest 3s today. However after 3 attempts to install it,where it says successfully installed and restart, the update still appears asking to be installed. Anyone else have this issue ? Is it a general problem?

Bonjour,

J’ai un problème avec la connexion Bluetooth entre mon Samsung S23 Ultra et mon Quest 3. Bien qu’ils soient appariés, ils ne se connectent pas.

Quelqu’un pourrait-il me donner une solution ?

Merci.

Ok,  don't pair your quest in the normal way to the Bluetooth as you would headphones etc. If it is paired, unpair it and remove it from the list . Then, just switch on Bluetooth and then connect to the .mobile meta app without pairing. It will then connect to the app. I had the same problem until I discovered by accident not to pair the device. I hope this helps.

I SWEAR META. FIX THIS ASAP. STUCK IN THIS UPDATE AND WHATEVER UPDATE WAS PREVIOUS HAS CAUSED BATTERY DRAIN QUICKER ON MY 3. ALL WAS GOOD A MONTH AGO. YOUR **bleep** UPDATES ARE BRICKING HEADSETS. WHY IS THIS 78.1028 STILL SHOWING. REMOVE IT. OTHERS WHO ARE NEW TO THIS HEADSET WONT KNOW ANY BETTER BECAUSE IT DEFAULTS TO AUTO UPDATE. YOUR GOING TO BRICK.

Meta did you hire another indian guy to handle the headset updates after you had **bleep**ed up the **bleep**ing meta link app update?

Had it also today on my Meta Quest 3. Updated from V74 to V78.1028 after it was finished it said that I have V78.1029 and I should install V78.1028 (both had the same build number.) Issues i realized where also that the switch to handtracking didnt worked till i restarted. after that the switch was really slow (round about 20 seconds to recognize that iam using my hands instead of the controllers). ive did a factory reset and after that i had V78.0 and guess what - WITH THE SAME BUILDNUMBER like the version i should update to (V78.1028) of course it also didnt worked this time.

Yes, I'm on V78.0 now too after factory reset. It's becoming a joke. I keep getting the same message from Meta Support that they're working on it. It's taking a long time. I don't know why they haven't pulled the update already.

Same on my quest 3.  Keeps saying update 1028 so I download, says click to restart to apply and it comes back on showing same update.

At this point we are 7 days into this issue and Meta have apparently done nothing useful to address it. I would have thought at the least they would pull the update until they resolved it but no they just give more and more customers a problem. How ignorant and irresponsible. I really really hope the silence is not because they can't fix it - that is we now have thousands of stuck headsets. This matter of releasing broken updates is a disgrace. We move from one borked update to the next. Heads should roll.
