After V76 release, Quest pro's download speed is capped to 200Mbps

So after V76 update it seems the download speed is capped around 200Mbps and 6Ghz connection is unstable as well

I've tested on both Wifi 6 router and Wifi 6e routers and both performed simular result

I've also done some LAN connection test from my PC to Quest Pro

On the picture is side by side comparison of Quest Pro V76 and iPhone 15 Pro max connecting to my PC via a Wifi6e router with 1Gbps LAN port under the same internet environment

Meta please fix
Quest Pro Lan Connection speed
IPhone 15 Pro Max Lan Connection speed

Apparently Update v78.1027 Build508494848.7050.340 Fixes Download Issues.  Looking forward to getting this in the near future.  I believe it's still PTC right now.

Fortunately, no V76.1025 disconnect or audio issues with my QPro and Q3, with Link and Air Link.  Not sure what's causing yours mate.  All I think you can do is contact meta support, including your log files that cover the period these disconnects happen.  Then see if they (probably will need to pass these onto meta engineers) can identify what's causing these. Good luck mate and cheers.

Edit; as far as audio goes, go to your windows sound setting (oculus virtual headphones) and make sure to disable enhanced audio.  Also, go into windows graphics settings and disable hardware acceleration graphics (HAGS) and turn Game Mode = off.

V77 seems to have added more bugs in addition to the Wi-Fi Download slowdown in V76.

Based on how bad these V76 V77 issues are with seemingly no resolution on the way, I don't see why I would ever buy a meta headset again, and I've been buying these products since CV1.

Ya, also have owned every oculus/meta headset since cv1.  Fortunately only my QPro/rtx4090 with wireless PCVR is effected by the bitrate throttling bug.  Not really an issue for me since I only use my QPro for flight/racing sims with the official link cable  connected to my z790mb usb3.2 gen2 type-c port at 900mbps max dynamic bitrate.  This gives me much better results than with any wireless option.  However, I have seen a case locally where connecting and/or disconnect issues are happening with non-ptc v76.

In any case, if you've been around oculus/meta for the last +8 years you'll also have suffered from the odd crappy update from time to time.  Usually these get fixed pretty quickly.  But, I gotta say that these bugs seem to be taking a bit longer than usual to fix.  Might have something to do with the Android update, who knows?

Anyway, please keep on filing bug reports.  Squeaky wheels get the grease and all that, lol!  Cheers.

Tom keeps telling us how great USB link is working for him, but unfortunately my experience hasn't been very good. No matter what I do I get a ton of compression, it looks as bad as wireless does at the moment with the slow wireless speeds. I don't have the official cable, but it is one indented for the quest, the Meta app picks it up as USB 3 with a bandwidth of 2.8Gbps.

Bitrate set to 960 (I've tried lower too), but it looks terrible, nothing like I had up until a couple of months ago on Virtual Desktop. Poor link performance is why I originally switched to Virtual Desktop.

Not to hijack the thread, but to add to it to say: it's not *just* the quest pro I'm pretty sure. My quest 2 has the exact same behavior, 200 mbps download that seems to just be capped and a normal upload speed (500-600 mbps) even on a local speed test. it makes PCVR unusable.

My Quest Pro on the stable channel just updated from v76.1025 to v77.1026, and the Wi-Fi speed issue still persists. Meta should not let such a significant bug survive an entire major release, particularly since it has been reported since the v76 beta. Please, somebody take notice. This would not be such a big deal if we were able to revert to v74, but instead we have to contend with forced updates.

I had software updates turned off but there was an update to v76 shown at the top of the update screen in the settings that warned it would be installed on 5/29. Sure enough, my Quest 3 woke it self and updated from v74 to v76.1026 Build 5091273.8150.520.

But here is where I am trying to figure out why my two Quest 3's aren't having problems. Both my Quest 3 and (I found out shortly after) my wife's Quest 3 both updated to v76.

All of the reported issues aren't happening on either Quest 3. Disconnection from WiFi, Not being able to connect to WiFI 6e or 7, Throttled download speed when streaming PCVR games on local network. In all honesty, It seems like my games are running even better than when they were on v74.

I'm trying to figure out what is causing some units to get hit with issues and some are going though all of these problems.

I ran the local Speed test and I am almost full Gb up and down.

Quest pro is effected not quest 3.

They don't use the same hardware so the software issue does not effect quest 3.

I got yah. I have seen a couple people saying their Quest 2 or 3 were having the problem… they must be talking crazy πŸ˜ƒ

I only saw a couple posts, got me nervous about updating.

I hope meta makes it right for the Pro owners. Since they called it EOL earlier this year and they killed the development on the Pro 2, I'm wondering how much effort they are putting into supporting it. They seem to be all in on the non-pro level.

I thought I was insane when I noticed high bitrate virtual desktop was unusable; I spent hours troubleshooting my network but then I realized I was maxed out at 300 mbps download when upload was easily gigabit. Glad I am not the only one experiencing this but now I am also very frustrated because that isn't even the only issue I've had this update.
