Horizon link not working

My Q3 was linking fine to my PC this afternoon, then literally an hour or two later, will not link.

I'm using a usb 3.0 cable, it is in a USB 3 port, power management of USB port is set correctly.

I get a notification saying 'Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article'.

There is no support article.

I have restarted the headset and PC, repaired the Horizon app, logged out and back into the Horizon app, restarted the OVR service and I still can't get it to work.

Anyone else having or had similar issues recently?

Headset V83.1034 build 5156385.14650.520

Grateful for any ideas.

    Quest 2: Link via Kabel funktioniert nur wenn keine Internetverbindung besteht.

    Wenn Link läuft kann man die Internetverbindung wieder herstellen.

      THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION - IT'S A TEMPORARY WORKAROUND ->🤮 THE SOLUTION LIES WITH META WHO NEED TO SORT OUT THE INTERNET HANDSHAKE WITH THEIR SERVER(S).  PS AS POINTED OUT EARLIER WHY ON EARTH DOES QUEST/HORIZON LINK NEED TO SHAKE HANDS WITH A META SERVER WHEN WE ARE ONLY LINKING WITH OUR OWN PRIVATE (AND HOPEFULLY FIRE WALLED) PC????

      Same here. I've tried everything: reinstalling the Horizon app, resetting Quest 3 to factory settings, and restoring my computer's system. Unfortunately, nothing works for me. The airlink isn't working either, even though the link cable is fine.

      Virtual desktop does work, though.

      Same problem here. I did a race at 3:45 PM, no problem. I started another race at 9:30 PM and nothing worked.

       

      I searched for two hours before finding the general issue on Reddit!

       

      The solution is to disconnect your PC from the internet, launch the Horizon Link application, and then launch Link in your Quest. It should connect. When Meta fixes this problem, maybe in three weeks as usual...

      Absolutely submit bug reports in your Quest!

      Hey there, Just want to say that this happens to me as well. Tried to reinstall the Link App, but doesnt work. 

      Pls help. actual version Quest 3, Gaming PC 11700k@ 4070 Ti Siper, 64 RAM

      Yes, same here. Come on meta get this fixed. Disconnecting from the internet, then reconnecting once link is established is a workaround.

      you could also use alvr temporarily until the problem is fixed

      Yes, I have had the same problem since yesterday, 18.01.2026. On the same day, the Quest 3 worked with Meta Link, and on the same day in the evening, it no longer did. I want to connect with Meta Horizon Link, and only the Meta logo appears. I have restarted the PC multiple times, restarted the Quest 3 multiple times including resetting it, swapped the USB cable, tried Air Link, and have the same problem. I also haven't done a Windows update so far, but did one after. In any case, it worked flawlessly until now.

      The meta horizon link has lost contact with the Rift headset for the second time after the update. After reinstalling the system, it worked for a month, and again after the update on 16.01.25 Meta sees the headset, but there is no image, and again there is an error in the meta horizon link.
