No audio when using Oculus Link

I have no audio on my Quest headset when using Oculus Link.  These are all the things I have tried to resolve the issue:
  • Reboot PC and/or Quest and plugged things back in in many different orders.
  • Restarted the Oculus service.
  • Tried different USB ports.
  • Tried different USB cables.
  • Tried both an active and a passive extender.
  • Tried throwing a USB 3 hub into the mix just because, both as the first part of the chain and as the second part.
  • Tried with headphones plugged into the Quest and with them removed.
  • Tried toggling all the options related to sound that I could find within the software (Devices > Quest and Touch, all those sound options).
  • Repaired / reinstalled Oculus software.
  • Uninstalled Virtual Desktop Streamer app and its audio driver.
  • Changed my desktop speakers from 5.1 to stereo.
  • Attempted setting every single audio output device as default in Windows.
  • Plugged in my CV1, went through the setup, and then tried piping audio through the Oculus Rift Headphones audio output adapter.
  • Reinstalled oculus-driver.exe.
  • Opened a ticket with Oculus Support (they told me they won't support beta software, lol)
Is there anybody with the same issue who found a solution?  Or at this point is my only bet to wait a year until it stops being beta and Oculus Support actually tries to help?
EDIT: I finally got it working after uninstalling the NVIDIA HD Audio driver.
  1. On your keyboard, press Win+X > Select "Device Manager"
  2. Open up the "Sound, video and game controllers" node.
  3. Right click the NVIDIA High Definition Audio driver and choose "Uninstall device".

Hey everyone! It looks like this thread is still getting some traffic from the occasional user, so I'm going to go ahead and lock it. This looks like an issue that was present in the early days—dating back to V13. To avoid floating old threads with outdated information, I highly recommend creating a new thread detailing the new issue, so that our teams can monitor new emerging issues caused by recent releases—or other leading causes. I also recommend taking a look with the native search function to find a more recent existing thread with the same issue.

I don't know why I have sound in Oculus Hall and Steam Hall no matter if I use Riftcat streaming or Oculus Link

But as long as you enter the game (some games such as: Mincraft, Waltz of the Wizard, VR Kanojo) (Google Earth, VRchat has sound), the sound disappears. In the game, the left-hand menu button calls the Steam menu, and there will still be a click on the blank "don don don" sound, so there should be no setting errors, the settings in the game have also been seen, the sound is turned on

Has anyone encountered this kind of problem?

For problems with no audio on Quest, but audio on PC/TV or Rift: you can redirect PC audio to Quest in the Oculus app on PC. Devices -> Quest -> Audio = Quest Headset, and make sure to switch on 'hear VR audio from computer' (and maybe also 'hear computer audio in VR'). I have Nvidia/Realtek drivers and did not have to change anything on them. Sound on link is a little weak in comparison to standalone, pump up the volume, audio headset also helps.

I had this problem but fixed it by setting the sound volume in Oculus Home to 100%. Anything below that resulted in no sound

No matter whether it is in the game or the lobby, the sound is maximized, but there are still some games without sound ...

I have a solution for the concerns of his, plug your occulus quest so that the sound works off pc, eg plug a headset before changing it on the pc.
before launching the application oculus connect a USB sound card, personally I use the dongle of my headset HyperX Cloud Flight check although the sound is connected to the sound card and when you connect the sound via the USB port it works.
I know it's a little complicated and sorry if the text is not super good I'm French and I do not speak English so it's google translation

This worked for me as well, and was fine for a while but now in game, others hear an echo/feedback.  My output is set to the headset only, so it is all within the link.  I am told within the game, they have heard others (who might be link users) also producing the echo/feedback from their headset.  I have to mute myself.  Anyone else have this issue?  Is it known and they are working on a fix?

Hi link users :)

Since last update, i have the same issue, oculus app telling me that my VR headset has no audio when i link my quest. I can play games, but without sound. And if disable PTC, i cannot play anymore as "an oculus app update is required". I'm really disapointed as i'm in hollydays and i really wanted to play this week.
Please, help me ::smile:
