Quest 2, 3 & Pro - Connectivity Issues

Hi everyone,
I have a Quest 3 and cannot connect the the wifi (it's a freebox, french internet provider).

Steps i took to troubleshoot :

  • I did manage to connect the quest to my cellphone via hotspot.
  • I factory reseted the quest and retried to connect to the freebox via passwords and QR code.
  • I trued to connect the quest via the phone app.
  • Rooter was rebooted, i was in the same room etc.
  • We have all other devices connecting without problem to this rooter.

Thanks for your help

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late to the party for announcing this, but the PTC for V67 just started rolling out not too long ago. It sounds really promising that some of you are already reporting improvements after updating! For anyone else participating in the latest V67 PTC build, please feel free to continue providing your feedback and experiences—along with your full build numbers, so that I can continue funneling these reports to the team. I don't have confirmation on whether or not a fix was supposed to roll out for this PTC build, but I'm working on finding out anything more I can share from the team. Thanks for continuing to keep me updated with your feedback!

Update:

Hey everyone, its looking like some people are seeing their issue resolved by updating to the latest PTC. If you're interested in testing out the new PTC release, you can find more information for how to opt in here. Please keep in mind that the PTC is a test build for unreleased Quest software builds, so while your Wi-Fi connectivity may have improvements, it's possible that other features of the software could be unstable. If you prefer to stay on stable public builds, I recommend holding out for the live V67 release, which should hopefully be coming out sometime soon!

Still can't  connect to 6ghz on v67 quest 3 ,hopefully official 68 will fix this problem.

Cause i really cant play on 5ghz with all this stuttering and frame drops.

My quest pro is working fine still on v64 . Can connect normally to 6ghz and no frame drops or stuttering on the same pc

I continued testing for a couple more hours today and didn't experience any WiFi drops. I believe I can confirm that the issue is fixed for me in v68.

Can confirm as well. With v67 I initially thought that the problem was resolved but my testing was limited and eventually I realized that I was wrong. With v68 I had enough testing to be sure that the issue is no longer present.

V68 PTC made the issue better. No disconnects in over 40 min

Thank you? For what? META introduced this error itself and fixed it after 4 versions (!) and 6 months later. No thank you from me. In half the time I've owned the Q3 I haven't been able to use it properly. What do I get in return?

Rough but agree. My Q3 new is already getting dusty and hype is low now because of this problem. I barely touch it because of this issue. I am considering to sell it

Had a problem where after the headset turns on it asks to connect to wifi. When I did it would say "no interned connection". And wouldn't allow me to do anything else. Even doing factory resets and updates would change anything. Same "no internet connection"

Randomly solved it. Turns out the headset stuck in pairing with smartphone. So the solution was to finish the pairing. Except that when I tried that initially - I couldn't finish the pairing. Maybe they fixed it is some updates? The issue occurred in v65 and I fixed it in v69.

Maybe this will help someone. Because there is basically no logical connection between "no internet connection" and the need to finish pairing with the smartphone.

Heh.. so yeah this was the easiest decision I've probably had to make on any product. These forum posts are no joke, if you have a ubiquiti WiFi access point don't even bother buying this hot garbage. I bought it today and will be returning it the same day. There's basically nothing you can do with this thing without it being on a Wi-Fi network. I connected to my Wi-Fi hotspot on my phone to make sure an update doesn't fix it, and sure enough it doesn't and there's no PTC to upgrade to either, a complete dead end. And I'm not going to bother to build out an entirely different network because the Meta guys can't figure out Wi-Fi and / or DHCP stuff. Should have left Carmack in charge, I'm just glad I didn't fall into employment with these clowns. Cya!

Hey there, metam00 and welcome to the community forum.

Although we can understand how frustrating it can be to get a new piece of kit and it not work for you as expected, let's try to keep things on topic with the OP post and make sure to keep in line with the forum rules.

The Quest Support Team can certainly have a look into this to see if they have a solution for you using the headset on a Ubiquiti access point. You can send them a message on their profile here.

I'm facing similar issues. My WiFi connection is lost within 5 seconds. I tried 4 different WiFi access points and only the my iPhones Hotspot is actually working for me. As for now I cannot connect my Meta Quest 3 on WiFi anymore... this is really sad. Please don't tell us about restarting our devices anymore but please provide a solution!

I would kindly ask the Meta Support Team when and how a fix will be released so this issue that effects hundreds of people and has an impact on your product and your online game sales will be resolved?

Any news and update on this is highly welcomed by the community. Thanks 🙂

Hi @ireallylikerobots, thank you for sharing for this with us. We understand that you are having issues with connecting the Quest headset to the WIFI despite having tried connecting to different WIFI access points.

We would suggest that you remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.)

Please could you submit a bug report here. Please could you also help confirm that you have done the Factory Reset, however, this issue still persists.

We hope this helps resolve your issue and please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further support.

Yes, I've read through the forums and other suggestions of the past... as many customers have.

No 3rd party accessories are used on my headset. My WiFi works for many other devices without issues. I've restarted and have tried the factory reset on my Meta Quest 3, multiple times with multiple software versions. I've tried manual and automatic setup of the network connection, renamed the router's SSID, changed the router's  password, manually set up IPs for my Meta Quest3, moved around the house and tried to connect in different places and at times of the day.

I'm open for any suggestions, the bug should be know by Meta by now according to customer's feedback on this thread and the forum in general but if nothing else is helping I will file a bug and then somebody else will work on it if this is the only next step.

Just let me know, and thanks for the quick feedback.

Have a wifi issue with headset! Drops out constantly with Deco M4 mesh network. Tried connecting direct to my Zyxel EX3301-T0 router same issue constant disconnects sitting right next to the router. Only mobile hotpsot is working for me at the moment!  It worked initially when I purchased the item. Update broken something?
