Quest 2 - Quest pro controllers update stuck at 0%

Hi I just got my Quest Pro controllers today and paired them to my headset (Quest 2), however I can't use them and a little pop up saying "Controller update in progress (Left 0%) (Right 0%)" keeps appearing evey 30 seconds, I left the controllers a while to update but they never progress past 0%

Hey everyone! It seems like this was an issue for quite a few users over the past week. The good news is that we've been hearing reports of Pro controllers finally updating now! If you haven't, go ahead and try again to see if your controllers are updating and working.

Just throwing in how I got past this stuck point.

I unpaired my new Quest Pro controllers and repaired my old Quest 2 controllers. I went in and found that there was an update available for the headset (can only find it when you can navigate with working controllers), updated. Then unpaired and paired my Quest Pro controllers, now that the headset is up to date it seemed to get past the 0% stuck point on the controller updates.

Hey there! I see you both are still having issues with the Quest pro controllers not updating 😞 This is not the experience I want to hear from our community. I do recommend getting in contact with Meta Store Support as they can get you back on track with this issue. Just click here to send them a PM.

We are all mad here.

Yes, for me it still doesn't work. And also contacted the Support team...

Still having the issue here, contacted support and they want me to send them my headset for some reason, which I am not doing. My controllers were both completely fine until I got my left replacement controller from you guys. Now both don't work.

Wow funny enough the second I posted this I may have fixed it. I switched the the public test channel and the second I did that and updated it. The controller magically started updating it seems. Will report back if it fully works.

Switching to the public test channel did work, but there should be no reason why I should have to switch to that to fix these issues really annoying.

Thanks for getting back to us, Neat-. We understand where you're coming from, and we appreciate your understanding. Bugs emerge at times and we do our best to fix them in the next upcoming update, which is tested on the PTC. That way we can have some more things resolved when it gets fully released. We're glad to hear that the PTC is helping!

Yippee! after two days of reboots and resets to the factory settings, everything worked out for me! the solution was to enable PTC in the mobile meta app, after which firmware No. 56 arrived, as a result, the controllers were updated

what is PTC?

Hey hey! I saw your question murim.2023, and wanted to go ahead and chime in here to answer it.

The PTC (short for Public Test Channel) is an early access program for the Quest software. It's basically enrolling in beta testing for updates, so you'll get new updates before those who are not on the PTC, but the PTC updates may have some bugs or hiccups that the engineers missed. If you're interested in some more details about the PTC and how to sign up, you can check out this public article.

I hope that answered your question! You can let me know if you have any others and I'll be happy to help. 😁

My English is not good enough and I did not find any options in the "solutions answer", everything is jus ok now?  how ?? what to do ? just updating ??

Today is 20230731, I got a new Qeust Pro device and try to work on it. controllers issue came out. After hours of  torment I found a way out. I hope it will help someone to solve the issue.

1: The most import thing is upgrade controller one by one. Use Oculus App to unpair controllers and hardware reset controllers. Then pair one controller to headset and update it. Left or right first depends on your luck.....

2: The second is restart and restard and restart .... headset. When updating one controller, the process maybe stuck at any time x%, just restart headset, after restart the updating process should continuously working from last update x% to x+y% until 100% and controller will restart. After that you should restart headset again and the controller should work now.

3: When headset restarted, there maybe a tip shows 0% updating the controller. wait 1 minute to see whether it grows to some number. If it always stuck at 0%, I have no idea what's wrong, But if it grows any number more than zero, it means hope and lucky.

How to Hardware reset controllers:
Left controller:  hold Menu+X button, until the controller light turn red+white flash
Right controller:  hold Menu+A button, until the controller light turn red+white flash

How to pair/unpair controllers:
Use MetaQuest mobile app,  details please search on web

Worst controller.

Why do you update often?

It solves the problem and uses it well, then proceeds with the update at will and makes it unusable for several days.

It has often been like this.

Please fix the problem with the controller update.

I'm angry and speechless.

Does a company not care about Oculus Quest 3?

I don't know if the management is looking at these posts.

oculus quest pro should be well worth the cost of the machine.
