Quest 3.Cant connect using usb-c link

Hi

Since two days ago I can't connect to my desktop using meta link usb-c. I can connect via wifi. And when I plug the usb-c cable I can surf the quest system file from the pc so I guess the cable is OK and the quest usb-c port is ok.  But I have tried with different cables and other computers with the same result. I have done a factory reset in the quest 3 and same result. So, if i can see the the meta quest 3 files from the pc I guess there is no problem in the computers, cable or quest 3.  Then what happens?

Please help

Oculus asked me to make a full re-intallation of meta-link, with deleting all the files from oculus, everywhere includind hiddens files, on my harddisk.

    Still not solved.

But i have already tried a full installation of Windows10, and a full installation of Windows11 from scratch, and the problem was still there.

It feels i'm talking to an IA-assistance.

I have the simple question, when plugged cable link to PC and quest, open meta quest link software on PC, go to devices and now:

Do you see quest 3 connected and green circle with thick like on the picture ?

If not - USB cable problem, USB PC problem or USB quest problem.

I have that, but when selecting the enable link button, I get a black screen with the white Meta logo, and I have to disconnect and reconnect the link cable over and over. I also change the refresh rate and pixel resolution sometimes, and that works, but when I turn off the headset, and want to continue playing the next day, link will not connect, and I have to go through all the trouble over and over again and again

    Oculus assistance is reactive.

Many messages exchanged between assistance and myself today.

    Thanks for your help.

But still not solved despite many tests.

I'm starting to think that it might be something to do with the USB Type-C connector in my PC, and everyone else's, maybe. I have two Type C's, one that's made for 20gbps, and the other one is not stated(Motherboard is MAG-Z790-TOMAHAWK-WIFI). The 20gbps slot is for the Quest 3, and the other one is to charge my Xbox Elite 2 controller. Anyway, I'm wondering if the power consumption for both of them is too much to power both?. Since I removed the charger cable from my elite to a USB port on my plug tower, Link has been working flawlessly. This could be a coincidence, and before that, I had reset the Quest to factory settings and performed a repair on the Link desktop app before coming here for answers and hadn't checked if what I did fixed anything, but something I did must have?

I noticed something wasn't right when I started getting the headset charging slowly every time I connected the headset to the link cable, and with the cable attached to the headset and PC, the headset went flat whilst playing Elite Dangerous, and this has never happened before.

This could all be a long shot, but it gives others with the same problem something to try. I doubt my PC is suffering from Power issues, since I have a 1000W PSU, but who knows.

I will keep checking and see if anything changes in the next week. My only problem now is whether the cable is charging my headset while playing like it did before?

    Hi

I just wanted to say that today I have received a meta app update (windows) and the problem is fixed. Maybe because of the update, maybe because of the upgrade process. I dont know. Anyway, I hope it fixes the usb-c connection problem for all the people

    hi everybody,

Good news, I've installed a new firmware (v81.1034) on my quest 3 and PC-LINK seems to work now. I can't say more at the moment,  i need to play with my usual games to be sure everything is ok.

Thanks META for this update !!!!

For information, it works with a basic cable as before.

I didn't plug the oculus cable, I paid especialy 100€ because I though it was the problem.
