Quest Link stuck on purple screen after recent update (Quest 2 & Quest 3)

Hi,

After a recent update, Quest Link is stuck on a purple screen and PCVR Home never loads.

 

What’s happening:

  • Meta PC App shows the headset as Connected / Active
  • Inside the headset, Link starts but stays on the purple screen
  • No PCVR Home environment appears

Tested hardware:

  • Quest 3
  • Quest 2

(Same issue on both)

Tested PCs:

Two different Windows PCs

(Same behavior)

What I already tried:

  • Factory reset (Quest 3)
  • Cable-only Link (Air Link off)
  • Different USB ports (rear motherboard ports)
  • Meta PC App service restart
  • No SteamVR, no Unreal Engine running
  • OpenXR runtime set correctly
  • GPU forced via NVIDIA Control Panel
  • Windows graphics scheduling disabled

The issue persists in all cases.

Important context:

I am using Quest Link for PhD research and VR application development, and this issue is currently blocking my work.

My questions:

  1. Is this a known regression in recent Horizon OS / Meta PC App updates?
  2. Has Meta acknowledged this issue?
  3. Is there an estimated fix timeframe or upcoming hotfix?
  4. Is there any official workaround at the moment?

There is a workaround by disconnecting the pc from internet, link the Quest and then reconneting the pc to the internet.

    Meta posted that they updated the version, no workaround necessary anymore

      couchpotato.140280​  maybe it'll work in a few hours again without problems and workarounds.... the issue seems that the Meta link servers are down.

        Devastated - this is STILL not working for me, even if I try the workaround. all devices fully updated. turned off, and back on. uninstalled, reinstalled. tried it wireless, tried it wired (cable compatibility test all good). Logged out, logged in. Tried disabling internet, fully pulled the plug on internet, tried the outbound rules blocker workaround. Other games and apps work fine. All this on quest 2 AND 3 separately.

        Still stuck on a purple loading screen *cries*
