Greetings Friends. I am brand-new to the Quest2 and a 3+ year novice at Unity. My intention is to simply Build-and-Run an app from Unity to the Q2. I've failed at that, being stuck here: . I've tried and failed at sideload. In attempts to enable Developer Mode in the app, my 5-digit code never appears and 'automatically detected' never pairs. Unity-to-Q2 or sideload, either would be fine, i just want to be able to test my own rudimentary games from Unity on the Q2.I don't want to be melodramatic, but if someone could PLEASE solve this fro me, i'll name my first-born child after you (which will piss her off since she just turned 34). :0 Thank You so much for any help. -k
So I have haptics working, but I need a way to stop it. It seems to run for about a second or two then quits. But essentially i only want it to vibrate when I touch something. No longer touching, I want to be able to stop it.
Hello, I am having trouble updating a project in QT 5.4.1 to use the Oculus RiftS instead of DK2. I already installed the new Oculus SDK, but then I am getting syntax errors in the mainwindow.h (.cpp) and ovrinterface.h (.cpp). If I try the old (year 2012) Oculus SDK's the RiftS is not initilized. Which is clear, because there is no RiftS in the old OVR_Capi.h. Is it even possible to quickly add the Oculus RiftS, or do I have to change the whole project? Maybe some of you have an advice where to start? Thank you!! G007
Hi allI am trying to make a CG 360 movie for Oculus 2. I know Maya, Blender, and Aftereffects and learning UE. So I would like to know what is the best way to make a 360 CG movie. Any inputs in this regard will help me a lot. Thanks

Hi! We are working on an art installation for an event. The developer is having trouble linking 5 Oculus to the VR background he designed. We want them to perform like having 5 multiplayer enjoying individual experiences of the same virtual space. The issue is that that space will be modified live with each group of participants who create a phrase together. A new sentence will be made and available to be read every round of five participants. Any ideas on how to make it work without having a computer or cellphone for each Oculus? We cannot seal it and upload it to each device as an app because, as I said, it will display a new phrase after each group.
Please let me know! OVRCameraRig of Oculus Integration V.31 that supports OpenXR should work with OpenXR plug-in + latest SteamVR Runtime, but it didn't work.Is it a misunderstanding?
Hi. Is it possible to do handtracking with the PC SDK? Reading through the documentation didn't help. We build simulators, and our product currently uses Leap Motion to do the tracking and interact with virtual buttons. For what I understood this is only doable in Unity, am I wrong? Can someone confirm this is doable outside of Untiy/Unreal Engine? Thanks.
Since a few days the setup of the legacy avatars in Oculus Quest appears to be broken. Most configuration windows stay empty and some others are crashing the configurator. To me it looks like a problem with their backend as it was the same for v31 and v32 of the OS.Too bad that it is not possible to use the new avatars in applications yet. This situation is really bad for us because our new customers can't configure their avatars for our collaboration application. The only answer of the support is to wait for Avatar 2.0 without any ETA.
I would love to play games from the rift headset onto my oculus. The only problem is when i hook up my oculus to my gaming laptop it says I don't have the right graphics card, even though I have the highest graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.) This has been happening for months and it wont recognize the graphics card. Any recommendations on how I can fix this?
I used Oculus Integration-V.1.31.0, which is fully compatible with OpenXR, and set RunTime for SteamVR.However, the OVRCameraRig cannot receive tracking, the camera is fixed, and the arm does not move. SteamVR has been updated to the latest version. If anyone faces the same problem, can you tell me how it was solved?
Hi all, Calling ovr_Room_GetInvitableUsers2 which sends a message ovrMessage_Room_GetInvitableUsers2 seems to be returning an empty user array on PCVR (Rift) but works fine on Quest? It used to work fine on PC too but I've been away on vacation for a week and can no longer work on my games online code as a result. I noticed that there is a new Platform SDK and have upgraded to it, but I'm still seeing the same problem. Has anyone else noticed this, and is there a fix / workaround? Thanks
So, I get out my link cable, connect it to Quest 2, it has some normal procedures, until I activate it. I get three dots for about 30 seconds, and THEN it brings me back to the Quest 2 home. I check my Oculus Rift software notifications and it says "Oculus isn't working correctly. Click here to check out our support article." And after that it said "Oculus link stopped working," but that didn't matter. I had an idea. I used AirLink and that didn't work either. So I'm onto the software that it's the problem. Does anyone have any solutions?
Maybe I will look idiot, but what is libOVR method to get current ipd? [C++, ovr_sdk 1.24]
As a true novice in VR world, I'd like to learn how to take several hours of 360 degree video shot and have it visible on Oculus VR headset. There are millions of beautiful trails, mountain peaks, view points in national parks. I'd like to take them not in a single plain shot but in 3D or 360 degree angle video and modify the film adapted for viewing in Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. The video will be from a few minutes to several hours long. The viewers will be able to see the scene just like he/she is there as he/she turns head around or walks on by operating headset controller. Any pointer to start would be much appreciated.
I am interested in developing my own VR hardware, so I was wondering how the Oculus Quest 2 discerned the left touch from the right touch in its vision processing. The rings are mirrored, but the blob pattern doesn't seem to be unique enough for it to tell based on that, and it seems to know automatically. I have a few running theories but I was hoping someone had a concrete answer. Thanks (No, I'm not trying to make 3rd party touch controllers, yes, I know the headset won't track 3rd party controllers)
Hi,I bought my daughter a gaming laptop for her birthday with the following spec:New Dell G5 15 AMDAMD Ryzen™ 5 4600H Mobile Processor with Radeon™ GraphicsWindows 10 Home 64bitAMD Radeon™ RX 5600M 6GB GDDR68GB, 2x4GB, DDR4, 3200MHz256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive Can you see any reason why it won't connect to Quest 2 via link cable? She only wants to play Roblox in VR which is a bit of a waste of a VR experience but anyways the laptop is saying it doesn't meet the minimum spec for link but I went through the spec and am sure it's compatible...? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I met a problem when I try to select part of the text in TMP_InputField in VR.I can select part of the text with Oculus Link, but I cannot select with apk in Quest. In this apk, I can only click the whole TMP_InputField object, but cannot see the caret. And selection will begin from the end of the text.If anyone knows what the problem is or has suggestions I would appreciate it! Thank you.
I put a ticket in to Oculus support but maybe someone here can help me. I have a Quest 2 and want to switch on developer mode, but whenever I do it sends me to this site and tells me to sign up as a developer and create an organization. I've done that part already (several times) but days later my Quest 2 auto switches itself back to developer off. Does anyone know how to switch dev mode on? Thanks.
Hello, I can't seem to open the ovr-platform-util.exe on my Windows PC. It worked yesterday, but now it's just auto-closing the command window on launch without any error messages. I've tried rebooting, redownloading the .exe, running it as admin and tried it on different machines, but no luck. Any ideas?
Hey Oculus! So, I have experienced problems with my Rift S lately. So what was happening was that I was playing some Lone Echo, then all of a sudden, it completely freezes, makes a flatline kind of sound, and completely **bleep**ing crashes. I hear some static-y kind of noise after it goes completely black, the game completely crashes and reads it as a hardware error, and telling me to see if my headset is connected. Guess what? Firmly seated into the port. I see absolutely NOTHING. I tried reseating the cables, didn't work. I tried reinstalling the software, didn't work. I tried restarting the PC, nothing worked. I tried plugging the DisplayPort and USB 3.0 back in again after it, does it again after three **bleep**ing minutes. THREE! Oculus, please help me what I am currently suffering. This has gone on for FIVE months. After it crashes, It COMPLETELY looses connection, like it wasn't even connected. If anyone is experiencing the same problem and solved it, please tell me, and how yo
Hello, after a few months off, I wanted to use my Oculus Rift again and unfortunately the application does not start. When starting, I get the message "Cant reach Oculus Service" and am asked to repair the app. When I go to repair, Oculus reports that the two hotfixes KB2670838 and KB3033929 for Win 7 are not installed. But I installed both hotfixes. The complete reinstallation did not bring anything. Bypassing the hotfix check (cmd -> bypass ...) doesn't really help either, because at the end the message "Cant reach Oculus Service" appears. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks!
Hi, I have my game setup (using UNITY) and running on PC ( and Quest ). My question is how do people usually handle when one player has their internet go out while in a match? My game specifically only ever has 2 players, so if one players internet goes out I would expect the other player to be aware of that somehow and respond accordingly. I don't see the player getting any kind of event or notification or anything like that. Do I need to add a heartbeat that constantly pings the opponent and use that to determine the other player's internet went out? That seems like it would be build into the SDK, but perhaps not. Thanks
