Is it really as simple as adding a second or third camera?

Hi oculus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d3Wli7s6KY claims you are backing out of the VR experience and only choosing the seated VR experience at about 6minutes and 10 seconds in.

why not add an extra camera or two and get back the enthusiasm first present in DK1?

also: will you be including a case for the DK2? (i can make my own but knowing is half the battle.

thanks in advance for the software update required to make this simple solution possible, sorry i was not able to tell you about the simple solution of the extra cameras sooner.

last also for now: lifehacker.com/5850388/use-a-cheap-ikea-lamp-to-build-an-affordable-desktop-camera-jig (keep in mind the 3d printed part is not required.. duct tape or bailing wire or spray foam.. would work fine.

thanks for going back to the VR experience instead of the lacking in VR experience.

Why don't you just put the camera up at eye level when standing? It would work fine.

Sending 3 tracking cameras does not fit into the budget.

if using a treadmill is not practical to you, don't use it.. you can continue to benefit from the 2 camera system while sitting down. you can continue to benefit from a 3rd camera by removing the detachable IR filter and using it for augmenting reality.

I don't need 2 or 3 cameras. For development I'm fine with 1 camera, that's enough to get something going.
You will eventually have a problem with all the wires winding around you before needing many cameras.

The rift needs to be wireless and needs to have onboard sensors for tracking. It's not really a problem to me.

It's still a devkit, why don't you try to put those cameras onboard? That would benefit more than having 3 cameras don't you think?

which is why upgrading the included camera continues to be the next step.. make it the wireless hub(central camera vs Single camera).

to bypass the wire issue of the current DK2 and standing you can try some string from the ceiling to keep the wire from wrapping you. the practice of reverting to a default position after rotating will help, too.

i'm becoming more aware of the ease in adding my own cameras.

prove it with more than an excerpt of a PR rep claiming it to be truth. i will settle for them including extra IR filters for when i buy my own tracking cameras.

Yes that's it, I think it's the first post you make that is clear and that do not push oculus to do this mod for you.

Then go buy your own cameras. No need to whine here.

saving this line until yours is adjusted.

this may help your wireless problem http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-WIFI-Display-Dongle-Receiver-For-Smartphone-Tablet-PC-HDMI-Multimedia-/350829730948?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51af14dc84

i'm not going to shop for the adapter cable for you too.. yet.. i'm going now found this instead:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Wireless-WIFI-HD-audieo-video-player-transfers-from-phone-to-TV-or-Projector-/390710955819?pt=US_Internet_Media_Streamers&hash=item5af8300f2b this one seems to be better

try sorting tmart and ebay by cheapest and spending some time looking through it.. you should find your pricing to be more accurate than that of what someone who is buying from someone else claims it to be.

Here is a review of the iPush which you linked. It will in no way help with wireless video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD0mb62rIxc

It is just a streaming device. Watch how long it takes to display a picture. All this is doing is sending the picture to the iPush dongle which then displays the picture. You will noticed when he reloads the same picture it displays a bit faster. That is because it is already buffered. This device requires software on the phone to interface with the streaming software on the iPush.

This may appear to a wireless video, but it is completely different.

so use the other device that does not :) it will be better when done by those that know more about it than me. hopefully my 1080p DK1 bid falls through and i can test it before waiting for DK2's camera to be acceptable.
