Oculus app not working / black window / rendering?

Hi guys,

I was trying to install the PC App today. The installation worked quite fine. The moment when the VR says to establish the link in the VR and the rest have to be done on the Computer, my Oculus App starts.

I've updated the NVidia graphics driver and repaired the Oculus app. What else can I do? My firewall is off and there is no Virus Defender installed, the active Virus control from Windows is off.

EDIT2: Use Oculus Tray Tool to restart or kill the service, works fine for me, while troubleshooting back and forth.

      We have a solution guys. Strikekat from discord posted a zipped file to downgrade the client version and it works!

      1. You will need to download this file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dprJ7QxIzyzb4jZC-H-fQ_sRzOVCFA62/viewI have downloaded it myself, its around 580MB.
      2. Then, use something like Oculus Tray Icon (https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/5okoju/oculus_tray_tool/) to kill the oculus service.
      3. Then replace the files in your C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support folder with those from the zipped file and voila!
      4. After that, restart oculus app and it should work.
      5. After the full setup process, you might need to uninstall and install it again to have the latest version! But then it should work properly!

      No its not working. Because after that, Steam VR ask you to update rou oculus software. And then, you have the black screen again

      LastMohikaner said to unistall and then reinstall it to get back up to date. It should work correctly once you reinstall it.

        Worked perfectly! Thank you LastMohikaner! Apparently it's a known issue, but rolling back the version seems to fix it. Oculus is working on it, but they should at least offer a workaround of some sort.

        This fix worked on (2) systems I have (Laptop MSI GL75 & Desktop - custom)

         

        I would like to know though....Is this going to be fixed in the next Oculus software release?

        You run Steam? If so install the Steam VR and be sure it connects to the headset and controllers. If it doesn't a simple uninstall/reinstall of the Oculus software will suffice.

        I did. Everything works perfectly now. Tried ACC and ETS2. It was nice but after ETS2 I feel little bit dizzy. Need to get used to it I think 🤢
