Windows 10 Compatibility w/ Oculus Rift DK2 - PLEASE READ

Our software team is working as quickly as possible to complete Windows 10 compatibility with our SDK and the Oculus Runtime. As Windows 10 is not officially supported at this time, we strongly suggest that Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 owners do not upgrade from previous versions of Windows until we have the officially updated SDK and Oculus Runtime available.

No, Extended Mode is gone for good. You'll have to wait for the apps to be updated.

SDK 0.5.0.1 is working on my Windows10x64.
I used two tools to switch SDK version from 0.8 to 0.5 to be able to play Elite:Dangerous without SteamVR/OpenVR, which is integrated to ED and have some problems with in-game smoothness and worse performance in ED at this moment.

I see error message, like "oculus driver not found", and have no access to HMD mode settings. But all works - ED, Oculus demo scene, and even old version of the Proton Pulse (on 60Hz for some reason).

And now I am verry happy!

Maybe ED with SteamVR have better head tracking latency (I suppose that is mostly because of using SDK 0.8 with SteamVR), but ED only with SDK 0.5 have smooth picture, even if in both cases ED showing 75FPS.

SDK with runtime 8 was working fine with Windows 8.1. Since upgrading to Windows 10 I've had no luck getting it to work, even stripping everything Oculus out and reinstalling. Hope you can help me please. Thank you.
    I've attached my log output.

You need to update your Nvidia driver to the latest.

Thank you, however nVidia seems to think my driver is up to date. It is ver. 353.62 dated 7/29/2015. The Oculus Config Utility says "HMD powered off, check HDMI connection". Yet the blue light on the headset comes on when I open the Config utility. No light on the camera however. The OCU then quits and the blue light on the HMD goes out. Pushing the button on the HMD will not light it, but opening the OCU again will.

No, you have an old, unsupported, driver version.

    Download and install this: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRe ... 8556/en-us

That solved the problem! Nvidia's update system missed that. Thank you very much for your very prompt and concise help, it is really appreciated.

Hello after seeing all these problems running the dk2 on windows 10 I think I will stay with my windows 8.1... So my question is I just ordered a dk2 kit off amazon and should be here in couple days and the leap motion sensor as well I know my laptop is a few years old Asus G75vx Nvidia Gtx 670 and 32 gig of ram memory will I be able to at least play most of the games on at least medium settings until I purchase a desktop pc and what processor and vid card would run it the best way? And when the dk2 gets here should I just stick with the sdk runtime 6 or 7??? Sorry for all the questions but new with the rift way I been using my Samsung gear vr and luv it but it only able to game maybe 2 hrs tops at times before it overheats.. I want something I can use for long times and not worry bout that issue that's why I ordered the dk2 kit...thx again

Laptops are really supported on 0.7+. Well, laptops were never really working well but you can try with the 0.6.0.1 Runtime. If you can manage to get games to load they will probably be choppy though.
