Windows 10 Compatibility w/ Oculus Rift DK2 - PLEASE READ

Our software team is working as quickly as possible to complete Windows 10 compatibility with our SDK and the Oculus Runtime. As Windows 10 is not officially supported at this time, we strongly suggest that Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 owners do not upgrade from previous versions of Windows until we have the officially updated SDK and Oculus Runtime available.

Are you sure the internal header connection is plugged in correctly?

Can you try plugging a monitor into the front port and see if you get video output at all?

You can still uninstall all Oculus software now, restart your computer, reinstall video drivers, then install latest Oculus runtime again.

Hi all, I am experiencing problems in installing the driver for the positional tracker while installing the Dk2 runtime on a brand new PC running windows 10 with the NVIDIA drivers updated at their last version. The error message says that the "driver descriptor request failed". I also tried by installing manually the driver, as available in the files OculusPTDriver_Win8_x64.msi or in the file OculusPTDriver_Win8_1_x64.msi, but with no success. Do you have any hint?

never had a problem before windows 10 but trying to set my rift up now my pc recognizes both it and the sensor but the oculus config is completely greyed out, the only thing i can do to change it is if i turn off the rift (which only has an orange light on and no light on the sensor) which brings up red text on the confrig saying its powered off. its weird that it recognizes that its turn off but no matter what i do, like switching plugs and cords and stuff or deleting everything and reinstalling, has no change in what i can do with the oculus.

You need a newer GPU. See here:

so that would make the entire thing obsolete then? back when i used it i was running everything maxed and smoothly and now i dont even have access to it because my pc would be too slow? just hoping that i could still use it even on a low quality, since all my others games work great. is it possible to either switch back to an older windows or an older sdk?

Windows 10 requires Runtime 0.7 (or newer) which requires newer GPUs. You can still use older Runtimes, with Windows 7 and 8, though then you can only run older content that was made for older Runtimes.
