Questions & Discussions

Hello all, I'm starting an AR Unreal 5.6.1 app with the Meta Quest 3. I'm trying to figure out how to scan my (real) environment and do raycasting against the room mesh. The Scene docs page points me over to the MRUK page. The MRUK page says to call LoadSceneFromDeviceAsync. When I do that my App crashes, and I pulled the .log file off my Android/<project> folder on my device and it had no callstack. So I started reverse engineering the setup done in the "Core" level in MRUtilityKitSample. The thing is, I can't get scene scans to work in the Sample on the Quest 3 either. On the Quest 2, it forced me to manually draw walls and furniture but then I was able to use the raycast modes, identify the main wall, etc. On the Quest 3, it takes me to the room auto-scanner but then when I return to the MRUKSample app the Room Details widget says there are 0 rooms loaded and none of the core demo modes seem to do anything.I noticed that Core.umap -> SetupRoom is using a deprecated node

I'm using the OVRInteractionComprehensive building block as the basis of my project with a distance grab block. I then added the HandPose Features to use 2 preset hand poses (Rock and stop) and this automatically added a second OVRInteractionComprehensive block to manage these poses.I've now added a basic menu but can't get either ray interaction or poke interaction to function on the menu buttons. It seems the previous two blocks already in use in the project are blocking the event system from working. When I add a canvas it won't add an event system. Can anyone suggest the best way forwards and point me at a tutorial that might help. Thanks!

Hi,We are working on our trailer for our Mixed Reality app and wanted to ask if it is okay to film in outdoor settings. The reason I ask is that Meta Quest 3 is officially not recommended for outdoor use. Thanks,Horacio

Hi,Everything else is v83, but the Unity SDK is still on v81. Is there an updated version of that somewhere other than the store?Thank you!-Chilton

I am experiencing multiple issues with the Meta Horizon Developer Dashboard. The page loads very slowly, clicks are delayed, and over the past two days, I have been unable to update the test user subscription status. I am even unable to publish a subscription without trying at least five times. Each attempt results in a network timeout error, such as:Network request timed out. OCDevManageSubscriptionCancelTestSubMenuItemMutationNow, while testing IAP for subscriptions on my Meta Quest headset, I am even getting a "Something went wrong" message. I must admit, this experience has been very frustrating. I sincerely hope the dashboard issues are addressed soon.

If you are using, or were planning to use Multiplay for your game server to connect players together, be aware that they announced this morning they were going to stop the service in 3 months.  Their migration plan is nowhere to be seen. If you're looking for simple, quick and cheap options, I recommend looking there:https://edgegap.com/blog/easily-migrate-from-unity-s-multiplay-to-edgegap-s-game-server-hosting Full disclose, I work there and we're all ready to support you for free to migrate to make sure your game is not impacted. You will end up paying less per month anyway, so this should end up being a positive thing after all.

Hey!I'm using "bool ValidExpressions[Get]" on the Quest Pro, but I noticed that even if I remove the headset and put on the table, it reads back True. Is this a bug? why is this happening? The link to the relevant page in the "API reference" :OVRFaceExpressions Class

Issue Description I downloaded the Meta Interaction SDK (version 74) and integrated it into the Unreal Engine fork oculus-5.5-v74 from GitHub.The integration works correctly inside the Editor, and VR Preview runs without any issues. However, when I package the project for Quest and install the APK on the headset, the application:launches, shows a black screen for less than a second, then immediately crashes/auto-closes.When I disable the Meta Interaction SDK plugin and rebuild the project, the packaged application works normally on the device. This confirms that the crash is directly caused by the Interaction SDK during runtime on the Quest. What I Have Already VerifiedThe plugin is properly added under /Plugins/runtime/OculusInteraction.Engine fork version matches the Meta SDK version (both v74).No conflicts in Editor logs.No errors during packaging. The crash happens only on device startup, not in VR Preview.Expected BehaviorThe packaged app should run the same way it does insid

Hello!I am hoping someone associated with Meta will see this, but I recently lost access to my developer account with an active submission due to the MFA. I have all of the account login information, but without the two factor, I cannot submit any tickets or attempt to recover my account. I also don't have any devices linked yet. Is there anyone who could help me recover the account?

Reposting an archived discussion as it seems to be still unresolved:MQDH Input Forwarding: Gaze Click not working | Meta Community Forums - 1283192I'm trying to get the Gaze Click input from my mouse click to work to be able to interact with the 3D UI inside the quest. I have disabled hand tracking and disconnected the controllers as suggested but still unable to get the mouse click to go through. The use case for me is to be able to remotely control the quest 3 from my PC without having to use the headset nor the touch controllers for testing developed apps.

Hi, I’m new to Unity VR development and I’m running into some issues with the splash behavior in my project.Right now, on launch, the default Meta system splash (the one with the three dots) appears first. Then my Unity splash image shows up and moves into the center of the view. Unity seems to spawn the splash image based on the headset’s initial yaw at power on and then it rotates to face forward. This also affects my in-game starting orientation.I have two questions about this:1. How can I make Unity respect the current yaw (headset orientation) at app launch? At the moment this also breaks my XR Origin’s starting rotation — for example, instead of the Z axis being forward for the player, the X axis becomes forward which breaks the whole gameplay. I found a workaround for it but It would be much better to prevent it instead of fixing it.2. How can I override or customize the default Meta splash? I’ve seen games where their logo/name appears merged with the Meta splash. Those also se

In my project, I am trying to achieve object tracking. I want to place the Vive Ultimate Tracker on a real object while also tracking the user’s real hands on the Quest 3 using OpenXR. The issue I’m facing is that when I use SteamVR Link, the tracker works correctly using the HTCViveTrackerProfile (as shown above) and the Tracked Pose Driver, but the real hand tracking does not work. However, when I use Meta Quest Link to run the same scene, the real hand tracking works, but the Vive Ultimate Tracker does not track. I want to combine both systems so that hand tracking and the Vive Ultimate Tracker work at the same time, and I need a clear conclusion on how to achieve this.   Or give me another way to track the real time object and hand tracking

Hi,I'm trying to track down a bug between Unity and Link, and instead I ran into this twice on two different machines. The link installer is looking for an app named OculusClient.exe, but the app's actual name is Client.exe. This started with the current update, which I think is v83. I don't understand how more people aren't hitting this brick wall.Unfortunately, this is NOT the bug I'm trying to nail down. It's just a different serious bug, as it completely stops the install process. -Chilton

How to connect to live agent for support.

I’m working on a VR application where I’m using the XR Interaction Toolkit for interactions. I have a scene where, on a button click, text is revealed and AI-generated voice is played using Meta Audio SDK TTS (Wit.ai).Everything works perfectly in Play mode — I can hear the text-to-speech audio without any issues. However, after I build the application and run it in the headset, the audio does not play at all.I need help understanding why this is happening and how I can fix it.

After updating Meta XR Simulator to version v81 - only 1 instance of MetaXR simulator staring in MP mode, but previously on v 78 (if i set "2 players" and "listen server") it starts 2 windows of Simulator.UE start TWO windows (for both players) but Simulator only ONE.How to fix it?

I have used every email that I have and facebook "meta" still does not recognize it.  Yet for some reason I can use a certain browser that is already logged into one of those emails and facebook will let me log in.  However, no matter what I do to view the email associated with the account or to even change it, I get nothing.  So, apparently my facebook account is running without being associated with an email account, or its being run by one that I do not have access to for some reason.  I dont know what is going on here.  But I have tried exporting my data and all of that, but I cannot find the email that you guys have associated with my facebook account.  It does no good for me, if anything ever happens to the extent I NEED that email to be able to log back in manually.  SO please tell me what is going on with meta.  Every since all of this was taken over by META its been a hot mess.  Facebook should be one account, Meta should be a compl

Hello!I am currently doing a project where I need to reduce the frame rate in passthrough significantly (5-30fps). I cannot find anything in the PassthroughCameraApiSamples or in Meta documentation and have tried throttling to "fake" fps drops in multiple ways.Does anyone have a working solution on how to lower passthrough fps? Thanks in advance!

Hello all,I recently picked up a MX Ink and am hoping to integrate it into a project I am working on in Godot. Wanted to ask if anyone here has gotten the MX Ink up and going in their apps and specifically in Godot? Thanks,Boaz

Greetings!I am having issues with deploying my IWSDK Project to GitHub Pages. When I go to deploy and publish, it returns black screen. This was for a simple starter project as I get familiar with the workflows.  I have also run through an in intense deep dive Q&A with ChatGPT to trouble to go through this issue.ChatGPT (w/ images): https://chatgpt.com/share/691ff205-cea0-8003-bde5-f449b081a1e1Note. I have also followed the steps provided in the guides for building and deploying, and tried to trouble shoot the errors in the console: https://iwsdk.dev/guides/08-build-deploy.html

In case someone is struggling to reset the rotation of a Transform which is controlled by a OneGrabRotationTransformer, the only way I've found to achieve that is what's done in this post: Reset a "One grab rotate transformer" | Meta Community Forums - 1269247. TLDR; Create your own OneGrabRotateTransformer, and implement the login in it's EndTransform-method, where you'll be able to fully reset the internal state of the transformer.public void EndTransform(){var targetTransform = _grabbable.Transform;targetTransform.localEulerAngles = Vector3.zero;_relativeAngle = 0.0f;_constrainedRelativeAngle = 0.0f;}I'm hoping this gets support in the SDK...

Hi, I’m developing a Meta Quest app and recently ran into an issue with PC Link disconnecting. Until about a month ago, stopping Play mode in Unity did not cause PC Link to disconnect.
