hello and happy new yeari am the admin of a 3d virtual world called FrancoGrid ( http://francogrid.org ).the world is based on OpenSimulator.on the 17th of June, an expo hall (l'entre pont) is organizing an event to present the 3d immersive persistant worlds with FrancoGrid.the event is based in Nice on the south east of France (french riviera).i own 2 oculus ( 1x dk1 + 1x dk2) but this is not enough.my requests are : - is there a french oculus distributor to ask them to sponsorise the event and borrow us some headsets (and maybe make some demos of oculus rift products to the public of the event) ?- if not, are there some people located in nice to come with us and help me to make demos on the booth ?- if not, do you know an oculus community in the south east of france to ask them if there are some volunteers ?
As New Year's Eve rolls in, I just want to wish everyone in this VR community a happy new year. 2016 has been a huge year for VR! 12 months ago we didn't yet have an announced release date for CV1. Over the past year we saw the release of the consumer Rift, Oculus Home and Store, the new forum format, a flood of new members in our little online family, and now we have Touch controllers and a whole new wave of immersive VR content. In 2016 we also saw the growth of mainstream VR with HTC Vive, SteamVR, and PSVR entering the market and providing some healthy competition and consumer choice. We head into 2017 with huge potential for VR, and can look forward to some great content in the coming months. Congratulations to everyone at Oculus, along with developers everywhere, for making the dream a (virtual) reality!
how can I connect my oculus and steamVR?is that even possible?plz help

Bought 500 shares some 7 years ago, and was planning on holding on to them for a few years to come, as I feel they're in a very strong position on the market with VR gaining momentum etc... but the way the value has skyrocketed in 2016 seems inflated, so I pussied out and dumped the lot. Close to 50.000$ profit! What stocks to invest in now? (I already have Intel)
i got this oculus for Christmas 600$ and i cant use it for shit the games wont download its not steam supported i cant watch youtube with it it seems like the cheap 20$vrs are better than this 600$ oculus should i take it back for a refund or is oculus going to fix there systems so i can yous there shit the way i wanna use it
Space there for me.I live in an apartment block, but I am not sure what the neighbours would think. Is anyone else willing to give this a try?
You know how you get that pop up 'allow this program'?When starting a new app or game. It does shut down the oculus right and till you say allow?I found this annoying when using the oculus deck and have to install some apps.
I'm a sucker for a good co-op and will play pretty much anything if i can talk shit to the person I'm paying with. Are there any decent (or any) co-op games for the rift without touch?can't seem to think of any :/
When you play online non vr games many times you hear quiet a bit of abuse when people talk to each other, but in vr games that have avatars, because u see the people's avatars moving in to real time u feel much more like it's a real person. So far I see that unlike non vr multiplayer gaming people are much more civil to each other. I find it very interesting.
IdeaFrom what i know oculus is a for gaming and a series of tech made for vr and this has nothing to do with games.Wouldnt this be a great for those fantasy rpg games though.Except for artist or people who loves to draw this is for techy people who loves to draw. what im getting at here is a vr app supposedly witch work with a sketch app. In hopes that we can draw and use any sort of vr tech like oculus to stare at a blank 2d simple art and bring it to life. So say you draw a 2d dragon you worked hard on. Throw on the goggles and the picture just becomes 3demensional. Its like training those who wish to enter a gaming graphic career field. Understanding oculus took the vr by storm in may 2016 i decided to come here and ask question and leave a simple idea drawn on paper for you guys.
Laughter is the best medicine. As the saying goes. Here's a nice thread everyone can use to share images, videos, and jokes that tickle your fancy. To get things started I will turn to my latest comedy addiction: Ozzy Man Reviews. He has a ton of videos on his YouTube channel, and I've shared many of his "fight" reviews. So here's a few cute n' cuddly ones to help close out 2016.Kids slipping on icehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkGh8w0bC8ERebel Dogshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MYaEIFa6OQCrow vs Cat vs Cathttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBsEJ0JyoeUCats that are smart and nicehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8mOiISWN1U

The climb is an amazing game. On my last climb in the canyon area for me it was a challenge. I had to put effort to get to the top. It seemed to take longer than it did.when I reached the top I really felt like I climbed a mountain. It felt like it was an accomplishment unlike any gaming experience I had in my life. I sat down on the top platform and just listened to the sounds and watched the birds fly and life and activity in the river. IT WAS GLORIOUS! IT WAS TRUE VR!
As in hours of use?
Vr is here to stay. 3d which isn't anywhere close to vr is said to have been a failed technology but meanwhile u still years after it came out find 3d at the movies, imax, and on tvs. It didn't die. It has a big enough market share to continue. At the very worst after the vr hype is over it may level off and just exist. But with each hardware generation when the oculus, vive etc. category of headsets become wirless lighter and eventually computor independent the user base will keep growing after each generation.
Now that I have the touch controllers do I really need the Xbox controller and that little remote controller for anything or will it just get in the way if I keep it since it does use a USB input if for any reason I need them what could I use them for?
Ok. I grab it and throw and then release the trigger.. It just drops..What is the trick..Thanks.
Just thinking about it - how amazing would something like Sim City be in VR? I would shell out all of my money for that! Does anyone know of anything like it, or anything in the works? Also - how would it work in VR?Imagine the zoomed out God like view of tiny skyscrapers - but also the ability to shrink down to street level and see everything from that perspective - seriously, someone needs to make this!!
